So, you are saying that "Mexican" is an actual language then? FYI, there are over 150 languages spoken in Mexico, none of which are called "Mexican". Spanish is the main language however and many are derived from that as well.
Spanish and French are Latin languages and thus have a lot in common - therefore claiming that "Vive la Revolutions" is correct because it's neither Spanish nor French but is "Mexican" instead, holds no value whatsoever.
Additionally, stating that you neither care nor can be bothered with to know something is correct - you're doing one hell of a job just to state otherwise. It's contradictory.
As such is the rest of your claims towards the private server or the name you gave to 'your/the' project.
I am also well aware what the definition of 'libel" is, but are you? Since I am, I have no issues with what I have posted and see no explicit reason why I should not have done so. I also see no issue with me posting my opinion on whether or not something should be appropriate or not.
It is true, 'you' did not post a direct link - as for its name of said project, I am sure that "your play of words" has nothing to do with that. Quite obviously. Absolutely not.
Or perhaps one could merely say it's just an extreme coincidence.
Nobody “jumped” on somebody. The linguistic part was merely mentioned as a “p.s.” and could easily have been regarded as such or, better yet, ignored. Since the need existed to insist, well – obviously it’s in my needs to insist as well.Quote:
I dont really get why you guys really have to make up such a huge hassle just because of a clever pun...
It was some simple word play and does acctually have nothing to do with advertising a rohan private server nor does it have anything to do with french grammar. You know, word plays do not always have to be totaly grammatically correct.
Either way, jumping him just because of that doesnt make sense, neither does discussing about grammar.
However, this post was about the acctual iRohan facebook likes. They are freakin low, in contrast, what ish was referring to, ePvP does have way more traffic and most advertised private servers over there score more likes. Anyways, that still wasnt an advertisement, nor was PJ's post... I dont see any sentence which stats "Hey go to this and that private server".
Furthermore, stating that private servers just want to earn some money while shutting down after a month is simply false. Yes, there are some private servers which do that, but noone really plays them anymore. On the other site, there are real professional servers out there which acctually target proper changes, low prizes and overall balancement so people acctually enjoy the game again.
Coming to another point most people acctually dont see, without those proper private servers there would have been lots of systems never acctually being released on this version. To say it clearly, PWi took ideas from private servers and implemented those over here. Tho, they've implemented those in failing ways. (Best example enhanceable bossdrops) Hell, pserver dev's acctually helped PWi to fix their game... Not even considering the fact of PWi having a proper fix for templars for YEARS already, they got them from a specific (no named) source but never implemented it since, yea, templars generate their income.
Furthermore, its not their game, they only licensed it from PWi korea. Even tho they are a child corp, they still dont own the intellectual property on it. PWi acctually only does have intellectual property on the source code of client and server. Thats aswell why pservers can be taken down by DCMA issues.
However, rights on ideas or acctual content? Well, ideas are so generic, they dont own any right on those. Content (a.k.a graphics/sounds/etc), I acctually doubt the company owns any rights on them or could use them as reason for a sue. Such content is highly dependant on acctual artists and how they were acctually employed/the working contract they've signed.
The point is, they might have rights to host this game, but there is no reason why players should except PWi generating money on their backs. There is no reason to stay on a sinking ship. Rohan is like the costa concordia, if you get what i mean.
However, thats aswell not an advertisement but just a fact. It’s always hard to just turn your back on a game if you've spent money worth a luxus car on it.
Just may two cents, dont flame;
If you don’t care that it is wrong, then you obviously don’t care if it’s right as well – so why bother insisting on it?
As for “stating that private servers just want to earn some money while shutting down after a month” – to say it with PJ’s words: “I never said that”. That aside, as you mention, there are some. The fact that they currently no longer hold much of a player base makes it only worse. It only means they already ripped people off to the extent that they left faster than on irohan – go figure.
My question then is: why would one leave a sinking ship where they have to pay as if they’re on a cruise.. for another sinking ship – that’s not even bound to much regulations, even less regulations than the one they’re already on?
To your other point of “without p-servers, things wouldn’t have been implemented” – that’s like asking: what’s first? The egg or the chicken? Would there be any p-servers if there hadn’t been an actual game?
There’s also the misconception that I am “against” p-servers in general. Which is not the case. I do have a problem with them being advertised on the original game’s forum.
They may be licensing it from PWi, but they are licensing it at least. Copyrights are hard to pinpoint down – so unless you or I are lawyers in said field – I doubt any of us can say to what extend certain content is a copyright infringement.
Which, to be honest, is none of my business.
And no, players should never be expected to grow money on their backs. I’m hardly one to claim different – I never bothered to throw more at it than 20-30 euro a month and not even on a regular basis.
As for the rest, I kindly revert back to my previous posts in regards to this.
That aside, advertisement is not defined by flashing billboards – per se.
As for flaming: I enjoy a good discussion once in a while – it’s been a while to say the least.
P.s.: i'm typing this from work between several mails - so it's not as thorough as I wanted it to be - just don't feel like waiting another 5 hours before replying - lest you feel standing awaiting the cold ;)
Dis penguinjoe so maaaaaad.
he got trolled so baaaaad.
ew ew ew baby~
and wtf is that mexican language lmao gtfo grow some brain cells plz.
Like I said, it was just a word play and had nothing to do with acctual french grammar. Yet you keep iterating on it. Why dont you just take it as word play and do away with the grammar discussion?
You are obviously right when it comes to the grammar part, but PJ is aswell when it comes to his context about using the said phrase.
Im not insisting on it. I've explained the context pretty well I guess.
Or might it just mean that people got more critical and dont even bother joining such servers? To say it with your words: "Go figure".
There is no point to stay on a sinking ship the one or the other way. Even tho iRohan has its regulations, there's still no point in staying. Its like chosing between a pile of **** and a pile of **** with additional flies.
Yet, why would you care for regulations if you get the cruise for free.
You can play private servers pretty well without spending a single penny, at least the "good" ones. You'll just make yourself a good time, even tho its not guaranteed to last forever, but on the other hand what acctually lasts forever?
It seems you havnt understood what I was saying since the story with egg and chicken simply cant be compared with this. If its just about you saying such a thing just for the sake of saying something at all, I guess i can just skip this.
However, iRohan was first, nothing against it. PServers exist because of the game. No problem aswell, quiet obvious. But that doesnt have anything to do with the fact of PWi taking ideas from private servers and implementing them over here. You are talking about apples while I am talking about peaches.
Thats nice, however, like I've been pointing out before, PJ wasnt advertising neither was ishtaria.
Just because I use the word "coke" in a sentence doesnt mean im advertising coca cola.
;)
Im always in on a good discussion, tho, I hate to keep iterating on the same stuff over and over again.
But the question in place would be, is there still any need to push this discussion any further?
Yurneroo=noob dekan :))))))))))))))))))))
The ultimate point is that the animal, chicken or otherwise, had to come before its egg. So, the "chicken" came first, and you're wrong. It's not circular logic, because there was a time when there where no chickens and an earlier time when there were no eggs.
It's like saying who came first the human or the human? Even though they both are humans. A chicken put their young in eggs "shell" for providing their needs, just like when human is surrounded by his mother's amniotic fluid "shell" to provide his needs, would you then say "Which came first, the human or the amniotic fluid?!"

Not sure where you get the idea a PUN is supposed to be grammatical. Maybe you are butt hurt because you are having to stay at a server that has long ago stopped being anything but a black hole down which all your money disappears.
Perhaps I would be bitter in your shoes too. After all, if all your pals here find better places to game, you will be left here all alone - until PWi finally throws up their hands and shuts down.
But I am not in your shoes. I don't have to nitpick at puns to make myself feel better about having this as my only life.
I do have fun and fulfilling things to do with my time to the point that I only bother to troll here once every several months. And when I do, who do I see pounding on his "holier than thou" grammar bible? EaglePhoenix! So sad little man.
Congratulations on your >10000 posts trolling the bulletin board of a game that has one foot in the grave & the other on a banana peel. You truly the spamming toll extraordinaire! Take a bow.
You still have not proven in any way, shape or form that we had advertised a private server ON THIS FORUM. Calling my pun 'advertising' is a joke. Calling Ish's link to some gaming forums 'advertising' is a joke. Come on and show us some real proof!
And my pun? IT WAS IN FLUENT GRAMMATICAL MELMACIAN. http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2.../200px-ALF.jpg
Lol yeah, I know.
No worries if this kid wants to stalk me, he has a pretty wide Internet he's gonna have to do it in. I only pop in here once every few months -- if that. And every time I do, there he is jumping on any post I make with his grammar bible :D
Sometimes it is fun to shake his tree & see what falls out once in a while.
The chicken came first !! Just think about it, what if the nature once had chickens which were so young then grown up and couldn't adapt with the environment around them that they had to put their next chickens in eggs. The egg came first? Then why there is an egg in the first place, you aren't supposed to think which came first, you are supposed to think what is the use OF THAT EGG.
which came first, god or men?
go ahead correct me on the "god" capital grammar bs.
I no give fucks.
Oh, awesome - more text :D
People got more critical towards private servers, sure - though one can only wonder how that comes. Perhaps because the first big promise turned out to be one big disappointment and to be exactly the counterpart of what it wanted to conquer: corruption and rip-offs, aside of improving general gameplay of course. The people developing a game might not have money as their greatest motivation - the ones running the game/servers, however, usually do. I have yet to see one that is different. Is this one it? Who's to tell? The ones running it this time? That's hardly an objective answer.
The first rohan server with purely players content at heart? Possible, but not probable.
True enough, nothing is forever, but I recall the last time being rather very short. It resembled more Game of Thrones behind its scenes than anything else.
Like I said before, a private server isn't bad per se - the idea's are usually good since it builds from what already existed. It's always easier to improve something than to build something up from scratch. Not to mention that, over the course of several years since OBT, there have surfaced enough other mmo's from which certain idea's can be integrated. The only issue here is that, whereas the idea's are good, the management usually isn't. Which brings us back to iRohan or Rohan in general.
Advertising, and thus the act of informing your targeted audience by providing them the albeit biased information, which must by necessity be incomplete, not discussing everything there is to know about the subject with the basic purpose to identify and differentiate one product (or hence, service) from another in order to persuade the 'consumer' to buy or make use of said product/service in preference to another.
But you're saying that the comparison of the facebook likes, followed by a post which contained a link to said forums was not there to differentiate this server with private servers nor that the need exists to inform people in order to gain more viewers (and thus possibly clients) and, by pointing out the serious lack of facebook-likes on iRohan and the above comments do not hold any intent to persuade people to go for (actual free to play) private servers in
preference to the 'heavily pay-to-win, grow money on your backs' kind and to specifically induce on this certain aspect of it?
There are ways to have a good discussion - regardless of the re-iteration, which is mostly needed due to things being either ignored or misunderstood.
The following here below is a bad example of a discussion that does not need to be pushed any further - and is the example of the small difference between a discussion and flame.
Which, by example, I can as easily join as any other civilized discussion. One could call it being flexible.
I don't 'have' to stay anywhere, moreover - I hadn't logged for about 1.5y and hadn't actually 'played' for almost 2 years before Isen, nor did I actually post on the forums for several months and on rare occasions, besides.
Being in my shoes isn't all bad though, at least I'm still potent - it makes up for all your aforementioned. For someone that's retired and does nothing else but sitting behind a desk from sunrise till dawn (old people generally need less sleep, the older they get) - talking about the lack of 'life' is quite the irony.
Those long periods in between your logging, is it really because you can't be bothered or is it in between changing diapers?
Sad little man? Here you are, retired - old but hanging around with the youngsters. Does it keep you young? Talking about having a foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel..
What is more to prove than what already has been said.
This is as much fun to me as it is to you. One could only wonder who exactly you're trying to convince this is actually fun to you? Us or yourself?
Considering those 10k+ posts, one can only assume I actually do enjoy this. One would be daft to go on like this for over 10k posts without actually enjoying it. That'd be sad, indeed.
See, I can do this too. It's even easier than coming up with some actual arguments - probably also the reason why so many people do it, anyway.
P.s.: your definition of stalking is way off - but then again, we both know how well you do with grammar and stuff.
1. I acctually dont bother with how it came or what happened since im simply not involved with it. I admit there were lots of private servers just wanting to do fast and easy money. However, im more interested in the acctual result, namely players being more critical towards random servers which pop out of nowhere and go like the same way. Therefore, nowadays money grabbing servers simply dont work anymore, which is more than fine. Even tho they still exists from time to time, they dont work out.
2. If you mean zRohan/XorRohan by that, I've gotta say I've enjoyed the time it was up. It was more fun than all the years I've been spending on iRohan, regardless of the fast shutdown of course. Still, it was fun all over.
Well, believe it or not but its true. Previous servers were simply hosted by people not involved with development at all or at least ones which were just money hungry. We are not since we are all developers and we acctually want to do a change in order to provide the best experience possible. Developers which always dreamed about a professional balanced server/game wont go down the PWi path.
Agreed.
Im not seeing it as advertisement, those were simply troll posts. Why aint it advertisement? Simple, there is no audience over here to speak to. There wont be players turning their back on iRohan just to join a private server because some pun or backlink to a forum section which generates more traffic than PWi's facebook. After all the people around here just sank way to much money into this game to just leave it.
Take it as troll posts.
This statement is false. Jin got almost deserted around January after several warnings. I left Jin, gave away/sold everything I had. I had my fun for 3 weeks on Isen but once again, I don't feel the energy to level up again a character. My max is 103, after somewhat is 3 weeks (for ~6/7h per day) and that's already too much for me. Hence why I've un-installed it again because that game requires not only to be a full-time job but also a money-sink and a time-sink. I've spent around $60 which is pretty nothing but I took the decision to stop here, regardless of the amount I've already spent into it.Quote:
After all the people around here just sank way to much money into this game to just leave it.
If I had to check how many I spent in two accounts, that'd be worth around 5.000 euros.
The reason I'm disagreeing with this is because there are still over 100 people browsing these forums on a daily basis. At the Isen -start, that audience reached over 200 people. Granted, not all of them play rohan (e.g.: Seal Online) and some of them are (google)bots - deducting those, still leaves you a 'fair' amount of possible viewers.
That there really won't be any current players turning their backs on this is stretching it quite far. If, so to speak, I decide right here to quit this and join this private-server once it opens, since I can now easily track its progress through said link.. then this whole assumption just become moot.
There are, indeed, people who've spent enormous amounts of money, albeit irresponsible. Though, I'm quite certain there are also the ones who never did. Taking me as an example, I've played for a very long time - but never invested all that much. Sure, if you count it all up through the course of the years, it might get past the 3-400 dollars - but given the timespan, that's hardly a lot. Some people spent that on a monthly or bi-weekly basis.
But just look at Jin - countless of those BIG moneyspenders - and it is now deserted. Why did some even get back on Isen or why did they ever leave Jin to begin with? Considering their expenses over there?
I'm from the opinion that the least you 'root' yourself into something - the more fun it gives you as you don't feel 'forced' to continue what you are doing. This, of course, doesn't go for all things in life but imho suits well for mmorpg's.
One could regard me as a special person - or with special needs if one insists - but I'm fairly certain that I'm not THAT unique that I'm the sole person (still) around, who hasn't spent all that much.
Does Maha still play?
@Eagle, PJ can you call it quits now?
Everyone left the game around January, few actually did stay to play on Ran. That's why they launched that new server because I guess the incomes were near zero. CEO's finally heard our voices (because no more money), but instead of balancing the actual servers, they took the decision to do what would look like to be a total wipe.
From January to July (before Isen started), there were around 5 to 15 people logging on Jin, at its max.
Can't say I'm surprised though admittedly what's left to conquer when you and everybody else oneshot everything not named Vit Def? I didn't actually want to leave the game back in 2012, but since YNK decided to give OP **** to noobcakes it made little sense to continue.
Current state of game on Isen is fine atm (few people are 110 atm), but I have the feeling people will notice that game is still broken. Walters going to be released, talismans +100 too, and you have those +10 conqueror levels to gain (+100 allstats if you gain 900% exp after 115... retarded sht). And there's still items you can obtain that gives even more power...
Beyond all those reasons, it took me 3 weeks to reach 103 on a 6/7h daily basis (playing with multiple chars) and not only I don't have the time anymore to do that but it is also too much time-consuming regarding normal games that i'd play. Max time amount I have right now is somewhat 1h-2h each day...
Lets be real, while Isen came out as player's voice were finally heard after 3 years and multiple threads of warning ending to a desertion of that game, and while I've spent bunch of, I don't feel I'm going to start everything all over again and spend 5.000e more again. If I don't spend, its going to take me months to not even reach the spending players who are spamming exp scrolls/seals to be the first one/be the best or spamming deluxes to get their club +6 after the 20th try.
This game had its fun, Kensen got banned and both shinji ithi and luckyseven got butthurt for years (which provided me a solid laugh), but I won't start that again on Isen, neither on Jin and I won't even talk about ran.
And you don't even want to know the amount of players they made leave because of their mistakes/failures. They lost a solid amount of their playerbase due to banwaves occuring
1) with indo items that overflowed Jin/Ran (around 4000 items got removed mid-2013 - while it was reported one year before that - and yet with that removal there were still some that were made). I've seen a screenshot showing a glacial armor set on Jin (with conqueror levels shown) which had 80% hp. That set was recent as of January, and it was stolen by another player from Ceazar's defender.
2) with Rohanopoly abuse then its closure.
Is it that guy Ishtaria?
If he is looking and he is a vice-ceo of the playwith interactive overseas (in korea) he better spend his time here and read our "prays" to balance this game out and increase the population instead on epvp with pservers.
That the best you got? It is pretty lame when all you can do is make age jokes to cover your insecurity and the fact that you can't prove your claims.
Skate around the issue all you want. You still haven't proven squat.
Yeah that's one of Ish's alter egos
Playwith Interactive (PlayWithi / PWi) is an American subsidiary of Playwith Korea based in California. Steve is COO of PWi. PWi is a licensee of YNK Korea's R.O.H.A.N. Used to be a wholly owned subsidiary, but now they are a separate entity and host several games produced by a number of publishers.
While PWi can configure the game and make incremental changes to it, they can't fix bugs. For bug fixes they depend on YNK for bug fixes and base code changes. They just don't have the expertise or source-level access to make real game changes.
These days Mr. Lee is more interested in removing competition that might lure his players away. So he trolls places like epvpers and other sites looking for new private servers opening and sending out DMCA takedown requests to their hosts.
Like you said pwi in America is a susidiary of those in Korea, but in difference that Koreans have full right to it and only they can fix anything, if Steve is COO of PWi that it means he is a translator and can talk with them to make this game better. Still license for PWi here is one thing, fixing bugs is another, the license is only given prolly to host the games or make contracts with other hosters which may host as well, like PH rohan.
Private server means one, that his "mother" (main game) sucks so badly that players need to configure the game and make it more and fair balance. But still instead of sending those DMCA of stolen source of the game code they should fix their main game here, so the privates could stop one day.
Very true. If PWi's server were actually good and satisfying to most of its players, people would not feel the need to look elsewhere.
Private servers thrive on dissatisfied players that leave here disgusted. If players were satisfied here, private servers would die off because nobody would want to leave.
It takes a lot more than putting out a 'wiped' server with the same load of overpriced, overpowered goods and unbalanced skill crap.
When players cry that they can't play because the overpowered classes are wiping up the board with them, what does PWi do? Put out more overpowered crap and unbalance things even further.
Players don't like that and if the management here would only take the time to look at what they did in the past, read the forums and look at the player base after those changes they would see what works and what doesn't. Unfortunately the selling of that overpowered crap is what keeps this game alive and as long as that happens, things won't change.
Because they capitalize on ego's player and frustration of having failed their real life.
It's funny to see how 90% of Rohan population either dropped school, either has serious psychiatrics problems. (pointing out at Ithilliar)
Isn't that whole point of an MMORPG though? To give people a release from their ordinary boring lives? PWi knows very well what motivates the average MMORPG player and capitalizes on it. When they go a little to far - some of the less tolerant depart and leave the more tolerant ones that they can exploit.
This is the commercial MMO Free-To-Play business model and it serves those that implement it well.
I'd say the whole point of a game is having fun.
But that's not what Rohan provides. Rates in rohan are just so bad that it proves it's intended to capitalize on player's ego and frustration, instead of giving people a release of their ordinary boring lives. "Repeat it until you success". Almost everyone I met in rohan came playing this game with the goal to be "the best" or joining "the best side" instead of enjoying the game. Most of the players here have serious ego and self-insecurities issues. Sadly there's nothing about being the best or being "pro" in rohan, it's all about numbers and the ability of throwing money in that game. (because at some point you'll have almost everything)
plus/minus the ability to communicate with other players, and the ability to team-up. But that only works if you 1) have numbers with you 2) enough players that are able to throw money in this game. 3) enough lack of self-esteem to wake up at 3am because your client dc'ed and you gotta relog it to level/got rulerfight or some event like PA or TSB.
hes not the ceo hes the coo (cheif operations officer)
Oh when will the obsession with me stop?
What did you laugh about? The part where you hit 6k while claiming to do 90k regs? The part when you were getting 1 shotted on daily basis? Or the part where you got kicked in Isen from every guild you joined, and now can't log because you're waiting for name change?
Dw bby you're not alone we're all laughing with you.
Uh, I haven't been kicked from HW unless it happened today but I doubt, 2nd I've been kicked because YOU went to cry on ventrilo begging for me to get kicked from Illuminati because you poor girl has been killed at ruler. Awh fk. Then started kos on Hollywood and threatened to continue if they weren't kicking me. Obsessed much ? You started it the 5th mn I joined by mistake that guild. I made a deal with them that I'm pretty sure you don't know of because it's been discussed with their core and only me and them knows it.
Communication skills, Ithilliar. That's also not like I have like 8 alts in almost each guilds and talk with almost each core and not like I can't log 3 GM's guilds...
Which part of that aren't you aware despite your h24 spying on vent/rc/guildchats ? l0l
Thing you don't know is that I shared for almost 2 months a chimera set with 200 int stones with maha. Been there, done that, destroyed you all at TSB while laughing. Sitting with maha laughing while you all guys get hit for 100k and we're having fun sharing the set in the middle of TSB to change our dmgs so you get confused with it varying by far.
Still butthurt...
ANd I doubt I have been kicked from HW but keep dreaming lol.
Spying? That's what you and your duper core does.
For one illuminati doesn't even have vent but ts, and if you were any factor to them you'd knew that, and they had no issues kicking you, tbh had to even spell them out your name. Same for Hollywood.
You're not kos for your "skills", but for your forum **** talk. Gl picking new name, just don't pick Haily again, we been through that already lols
