Thread: Templars

  1. #1

    Templars

    ISEN:

    DEKAN:

Strength Dekan fully buffed 7s (2xstr, 1xalm, lvl 7 evolve and lvl 7 emp) in evolve with Sudden Death (18% increased damage on regular attacks) all on. (no boost scrolls)

    Melee: 31900
Damage on monsters in upper: 11-14k

Now in the same party, same room same mobs, (mostly)same buffs theres a templar which is the same lvl. it has lvl 6(templar) buffs and lvl 7 alm and lvl 6 blunt and lvl 7 emp on (so not even maxed buffs) (no boost scrolls)

    Melee: 22000
Damage on monsters in upper (same monsters as the dekan): 20-25k

So a dekan with 10k more melee and 18% more damage (from his evolve buff) does 50% less damage than a templar, do i need to say more xD??

oh yes templar also has more attackspeed, more heals, magical barrier, debuff and reflect

(I know everyone knows templars are OP but if any gm reads this, you understand why this game is dieing ? xD)

@OP: Not telling anyone here anything we don't already know.

irohan is not interested in balancing the game. They are interested in making the large amount of money templars pay every month to be OPed.

Always has been, always will be.
There is nothing noble about being superior to others. True nobility is gained by becoming superior to one's former self.

cant really compare inflated melee to pure melee its like comparing an apple to asparagus

Yup thats inflated and decreases immensely in pvp/pve

Inflated melee story is bs(whats the difference between melee and melee...). The calculation to convert melee --> dmg from templars is just messed up (like we all already knew)

Looks like you dont get it. Heres a short test you should do. ok you have that templar buff everything except melee multipliers use same club/mace with no melee % then buff up with all int magic buff and alm. Now that melee that BM added on your melee stat is called pure melee and its the reason Templars are sooo broken. Any questions you need to ask about how it works ShadowAce already has said it countless times and yes GMs know it.

The reason points in str are considered inflated is because the original developers knew that eventually they would have to make stronger gear and by making it inflated (thus greatly reduced by pdef) they could balance it with higher pdef armours and keep everyone hitting in the same range as long as they had the new gear.

Templar's blunt mastery HAD to be pure because it had to convert the magic attack from INT into melee attack as well as chop it up into smaller pieces (inflated attack/4 pure attack/2) then boosted by x where x=int/1000. The problem with blunt mastery is this booster x which scales way too good as your int gets higher and higher. You can have 10k attack after all the chopping but you had 3.3k int so you get a booster of 3.3 thats 33k melee (-30k melee aprox).

One thing they could do and I wouldnt mind this change is to nerf pure attack as a whole. Making it 1/2 as effective as it is now. It would make pdef more effective as well as nerfing templars (but since it applies to all pure attack they would still technically be stronger than other classes). I honestly dont see a problem with templars being stronger than other classes because.......templars are not fun. Anybody who tells you templars are fun is a liar its the most boring class to play and you dont get to see the effectiveness in a pvp. If I play a defender and I push a priest away lock her down or drain the mana on that priest so theres no more battle... I can see the effect of that as it happens that I set up a pvp winning event. Theres a sense of gratification like YEAH I DID SOMETHING! that you cant get while playing templars. You play temp all you do is auto attack and people expect that you will kill someone theres no plays there just is this guy who is gonna hit you. I am defender biased I love them but I think the highest gratification you will find is an avenger, you play that **** properly you feel like a world champion and I think a lot of players out there dont factor that in when they are playing.

Templar post templar threads templar everywhere. All players know that Templars are OP but I am hoping to balance all the class
The thing I hate the most is to trample on other people's good will.

So it's the calculation but it's the pure/infl melee difference, i dint know that and thank you for explaining. Now i wonder is this the same **** with PDF?

    Example:

My str dekan has alm 7 + str buffs 7 = 6,5k PDF and mobs hit me like 500s
My dekan has alm 7 + mb 7(one that adds like 500-600 pdf) and my total pdf is maybe 5k but mobs hit me 200s

So my conclusion is that there is also pure pdf(armour pdf, mb) and inflated pdf (vit(2pdf)/str(1pdf) is that correct?

And I agree with shadow, i have a 115 avenger at ISEN, I played one at jin and i had an avenger at RAN as well. They are by far the most fun class to play in pvp, I also do have a templar and always had one at all servers but mostly to hunt bosses or stuff like that, pvp with a temp is dead boring. For me, in the end an Agi Dhan is the most fun class to pvp with but they are pretty useless if compare them with str avengers. another problem agi (Evasion) scales like **** so with a certain ammount of accuracy youll get hit pretty much Always(except for the wep % miss) (i'm assuming that's also a flaw that was willingly implemented to make sure there wouldnt be agi dhans that couldn't be hit at all)
