As, they said, you can use grade C as well, but what they haven't said is that crafting armors is quite different from other crafts which don't fail. For example, expect to make few sets without slots before you get 1st slot on a piece.

to my knowlege there is no equiptment for gathering or crafting for grade A or B. grade C equip is as high as it goes

grade c gear is all you need to gather and craft a and b and no you cant make crafting gear
