30 x 1.4 = 42. If your chance of success was only 30% before, it's now 42%.

It's like how a restaurant can lie to you about a sandwitch-"Made with 100% chicken" It WAS made with 100% chicken, as in 50% of the chicken used was 100% real, the other 50% was fake chicken... but some of it was still real, though! So technically it "was made with 100% real chicken".
damn wtf, is that really how "100%" chicken is made.....
