Can use my old account : rename Characters

So i decided to get on my old account and it asks me to please select new name and i type in a new name and it says "unable to seal - more than 10 items more than 10 items in the inventory".
I tried typing in just a bunch of letters still doesn't work also, tried the minimum of 4 letters still doesn't work what do i do??
I'm not sure if this is a portal problem, but i have had to rename a character before in the past but it's never done this before.
