I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall with these internet tough guys when they get pulled over by a police officer or when they speak to their coworkers/managers. You will quickly see it's all just an act; the SALTIEST of these forum warriors sure change their tune REAL quick after either A) a quick ban from me or B) an ACTUAL conversation with me. The effect is further compounded when they realize just how little power they ACTUALLY have.

Case in point; we have a player who is verbally harassing another player. This player is attempting to assert "power" over this other player; he wants to cause general distress, anxiety, etc. He has been doing it for an extended period of time now; the harassed player has done everything he can to stop the harassment:

A) The harassed player has blocked the harassing player.

B) The harassed player has reported the harassing player.

C) The harassed player has taken screenshots of shops made still harassing the player and submitted them in a report.

D) The harassed player has taken screenshots of the harassing player, LOGGING ALTERNATE ACCOUNTS to further harass the harassed player.

E) The harassed player has taken screenshots of the harassing player, MAKING A NEW CHARACTER just to further harass the harassed player.

As you can see, the harassed player has done everything that they can to limit the harassment, and done to the best of their ability to document the harassment. We send out a warning to the harasser; "Hey bro, stop being a jerk". The first warning is (sadly) usually ignored, and the harassment continues. You want to know what gets the harasser to think about their actions? A week long ban. You want to know what gets the harasser banned for longer? Posting whining threads on the forums trying to discredit the GM team.

I would like to take a moment to thank all the people sticking up for the GM team's decision; as we can tell from general consensus, most of the players here are just kind of pointing out the fact that they obviously did something to warrant a ban. We appreciate your continued support and input as we continue to improve the quality of the game AND its player base!
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand any of that.

Sound advice. Ignore it at your peril.
