You only get a code if that account has been online during the issues, which was fixed already back in 2015, if you made your acc this january (2016) you wont receive a code.

Yes and yes. I copied and pasted the code and submitted it and it tells me invalid promotion code.

If you put it to "promotion code" ofc it invalid, you need to put it on "gamer code"
