Nah, not neccessarily. I just made up that analogy, but the points still stands: the so-called "40% boost" can be misleading.

Boost had not been active yet - time says 11:38 in your screenshot and boost was not started until 12:00 which was stated in the original post.

Honestly dlvling and forging isn't too bad actually. Dlvling was pretty much a breeze, couple fails here and there but it was obvious the 40% was there. For forging it was alright, only failed 2-3 times and that was on rares, managed to make 3 ancient items.
