Wired's PSY Wizard guide

Postby wiredbomb0 on Wed Jan 14, 2009 5:30 am

NOTE: Please do not try to say that I'm wrong. I've only been playing the game for 2 days now, and almost found no guides of training a Dark Elf. So I did a little research and this is what I came up with. So basically, don't say that my method is wrong, cause technically, all methods are right, and this is one that I came up with. Now that is over, let's get started!

Last Edit: Added an awesome map (and yes, I know. My paint skills pwns :D)

Stats: 1VIT:3PSY

First get a base int of 70-80, so you deal damage, then go for the 1VIT:3PSY every level after that!

Here are some of the best places to train for Dark Elves at the lower levels:

Training Spots

Levels 1-5: Training: You simply kill the level 1 monsters you first encounter, till you get 19/20 m.kill. By then you should have 60-70%. Go finish the next few quests until you level, then go back and kill one more monster. Voila, you have just utilized your first M.kill, cause m.kill exp earned, does NOT continue (or atleast, since I last played), so you are maximising the amount of exp you are earning.

Alternatly, you could go straight to Montt, and begin by killing the Akepion around the start place. This is good exp, but you wouldn't get the crones and items that you would get from the Training. Make sure you talk to Flair and get that quest, as that will give you a little boost of exp when you need it.

Levels 6-10: Monsters are getting a bit easy to kill, so you should move on to something harder, such as the Rending Akepion or even the Dreaded Akepion. You are aiming to kill them in around 2-4 hits, and not losing more then 70% of your health. Towards level 9 or 10, you can move on to the Mezard Chaos Elves. This are easy to kill, and shouldn't take you long to get some levels. While killing these Akepion, you should do some quests, that require you to kill a certain amount of Akepion (such as the Sorrow of Commoners, which wants to you get 15 Poisonous needle of Fear from Dreaded Akepions. Combining Quests with M.Kill, means you get awesome exp.

Levels 10-14: Things are getting tougher now, you can see yourself doing more damage, but the monsters keep of coming back for more (what else do they life for? ;P). Mezard Nobs are the way to go. Just beside the Township Battlefield Gate. When your M.Kill reaches critical (19,39,59,79,99), head over to the Golos that is nearby, and kill that. If you do it right, you can get from 10-14 in a short time. I even got 50% at level 16 for trying this.

You can of course head out to do some Quests, but might take a bit of time, for most of them are kill a couple of this, and don't give a satisfactory reward (well, that's what I thought). The only quests worth doing are the [solo] quests, so when you see them, make sure you do them as they are one of the few important quests you can do.

Levels 15-18: Now it's becoming tricky to level up. Just keep going with the Mezard Nobs, and the Golos. If you really feel up to the challenege, you could try to kill a Blood or Dark Golos for your M.Kill critical. Over time, the M.Kill critical could mean the difference between 1 or 2 levels, so just watch how and who you kill when your M.Kill flashes.

Levels 19-21: This is it, the big time! (well, not really, but reaching 2x is quite awesome, so give yourself a pat on the back.). Now Forlorn's will become your freinds. Just take on some Forlorn Soliders, critical your M.Kill and then head over to a Forlorn Calvary, and kill them. All-in-all, this is quite an easy and fun process, as they like to drop some nice goodies for you to collect!

Levels 24-28: Now you can start to earn some good crones! You can repeat a single quest and you will get 6149 crones. 'Calvary Signficance' is the quest, head over to Beslodio for it, and go and kill 26 Forlorn Calvary (He says 60 though xD). And your on your way to good crones!

Levels 28-30: Monsters are getting stronger, but cause you so high a level, you kill them with ease. By now, you should have a pretty penny in your Crone account and you should be thirsting for me (I am =D). Now comes one of the best money making / exp earning quests around these levels. The Secret Warrior quest will give you 9402 crones, 2% at level 28, and all you have to do is kill 34 Revengers. Simple! They are only a little bit harder then the Forlorn Calvary. Just beware of the crits, they can sometimes reach 500-600 damage in one go. Your health coil and mana coil should be maxed, so kill these guys is going to be walking in a park (maybe a few rocks along the way ;) ). Just enjoy yourself, and before you know it, you will be rich enough to get your mount by the time you reach the mystical level 30!

Combat Tips:

1) Start the fight as far back as you can! If you start 2-10m from the enemy, they will get to you before your second spell. You want your character to run to your enemy, then he attacks. This small difference could mean the difference between a kill and a death!

2) Utilize the M.Kill! This is one of THE most important things you can do! The M.Kill really makes your life a pleasant trip, and if you do not use it right, you will find your life very difficult to handle, and at sometimes almost impossible cause it's taking you ages to grow a level.

3) Be prepared! There isn't much use going into a fight without a potion to help you. Make sure you stock up before you go, and everytime that you die or are near a town, you check your inventory and see how many potions you have left.

4) Know your skills! You need to assign all your skills (the ones that you will use) to the Action Bar. Get used to using your fingers to control what is going on. For me, 2 is always an attack (Energy Sphere), 3 and 4 are usually support (Health Coil and Mana Coil), 5 and 6 are extra attacks (Intelligence Beam and Wide Encourage) and the rest being buffs (9 is Dark Message and 0 is Magic Boost). I know exactly where they are, and I could kill a monster with my eyes closed.

5) Know thy enemy! There isn't much point killing something that has lots of magic defence if your main attack is magic. Try to find out how to kill monsters easily, without losing too much health. If they randomly do a critical, it can really hurt you bad!

6) Use spells wisely! Why drain 100 health when you could drain 300? Tactically use your spells. It's always good to have an extra spell, just to fill in the cooldown gap. Your normal attack isn't very strong, so using a weak spell (in my case Intelligence Beam), means I use an extra 74 mana, while my Health Coil / Mana Coil is cooling down.

Montt Map (with colour coded training spots [I did this at midnight, so give me a break :P])

Well, that is it for now, and as I level up and explore the world, I will try to update this is well as I can. If you have any questions or suggestions (or spot any mistakes :P), please tell me!

Levels 1-10 tutorial zone. Learn about the game and get a couple of nice items that help a lot in early days.

level 10-25 solo questing doing every available quest. Never miss a quest marked as [solo] ever!

25 - 50 more questing. Parties in ahkma caves.

45- 55 quests + parties in rahkon 1

55-65 quests + parties in rahkon 2

65-84 quests + parties in rahkon 3 + money quests on shitai (64-75)

84-90 repeatable money quests at arena

80-99 Fire temple garden

90-99 Rahkon 5

Quests pay xp, until 50 theres probably enough quests so that you never have to grind.
50-65 start becoming fewer quests.
65+ quests drop off to 1-2 a lvl at most until 80ish when you can quest in fire temple and r5. This is when grinding begins in earnest.

Doing the quests will help you learn your way around ALL maps, not just Ignis and will help you learn what mobs are where. The quests marked [solo] are important storyline quests. They form a chain. Any missed quest breaks the chain until the missed quest is completed. They are at....
10,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,52,55,55,58,60,62,68(?),72, and beyond.

I hate questing. I did my solos and 50 skillstone quest and a handful of other ones to get that final few %s after scrolls ran out. They do get important 6x and beyond tho.

The main reason I hate doing them is you have to run so bloody far and thats VERY annoying esp without a taxi. I think the fact I'm still using a lvl 30 mount is a problem >.< I just can never bring myself to pay 3mil for a good one.
This is where you say "you fucking dumbo a 7x shouldnt be using a lvl 30 mount!" and this is where I say why am I talking to myself......

Personally, I don't questing cause the quests don't give enough exp for the amount of time you spend on them. 10% for like 1/2 hour work isn't much, and I could get 25% in 1/2 hour without really trying.

its not about fastest levelling. Its about finding your way around, learning where the mobs and npcs are, learning the maps, farming decent items. Fast levellers tend to be high cash players or seriously undergeared or cheats. If you wish to spend a minimum amount of cash and not be undergeared its a good idea to farm quests and also to fish which is very time consuming and doesnt pay any xp!

Agreed, but serously, you don't need to do all the quests to figure your way out. By finding good enemies (searching), you can find some neat places.

As for the guide, is there anything wrong that I have put in there?
