Melee Classes and Min Dex Required?

Hello everyone,

What is the minimum dex required to hit monsters?

I have been building my stats as 3 str 1 vit for the most part. Around level 40 I found that my character had a very hard time hitting mobs with no dex. Then I started using sedorian with dex bonuses. When I am buffed, I have about 300 dex. That's great because I no longer miss the monsters, but then I have sacrificed having str bonuses on my gear. Buffed, my main attribute str, is only 400, about 100 points higher than dex. So I feel that I have lost a big part of my damage. I know there is gear that is +str and +dex, but it is very rare or too expensive for me.

As well, I was told that dex is pointless to have late game. Is that true?

Dex 4x your current level is most common formula. 300 dex for lvl 40 is a bit overkill at your level, feel free get some str/vit equipment.
