Camera View/Angle - Wide Screen

Is there a way to increase the camera view or zoom distance or even FOV on your character? (Mouse scroll-wheel's maximum distance is still very close to character)

I tried both 1080p x 1920p and less but they all have the same standard camera zoom distance.

The camera is too close to the character. I really hope there are ways or tricks for this.

This game is 9 years old now. Its graphics engine (Geomind) is about 4-5 years older. 9 years ago you did not have people gaming at 1920 x 1080 (16:10 or 16:9 ratios).
Later updates were made available to relax the resolution restrictions to include the widescreen formats like 1920 x 1080 and 2560 x 1440 as larger screens were made available, but they did not provide increased zoom and FoV to go along with those widescreen resolutions - that would have required a lot of engine rework and the devs of the graphics engine are now all gone to other jobs.
