Inconsistent Client behavior

Hi there,

I would just like to raise this concern as I have noticed the servers have been very unpredictable for the past few days right after the recent major
class update.

Servers have been lagging on certain occasions for no reason and it's been really difficult to play.

Recently, this has been happening:

*Please do note, these are two laptops

One Running Windows 10 with a fully patched and working client:

I'm getting a "do not download list" error message

T/S done :
- restart pc
- restart modem and router
- cleared cache temp files etc
- rerun client
- rerun client ( as admin )
- made sure allow restrictions for firewall

After multiple attempts still getting the same error message

On my other laptop, Running on Windows 7 Home premium

Fresh install and is currently patching (which means its downloading its list file)

please advise as to what is really happening as I am reaching this point of having to un-install the game on both systems altogether as this is too much issues just for a game that was released way back in 2008.

Patch server might have been unavailable (maintenance or anything).

Make sure you're running from the Loader.exe and NOT from the rohanclient.exe

Do you have ample room on your HDD?
1) No: make room free, see if it works, if not go to step 3
2) Yes, go to step 3


Have you been playing rohan previously? If so, how long ago was that?
Is this a clean download/install or is it a client you had laying around for quite some time you just figured to go and install it once more?


3) if answers are "quite some time ago", "i didn't download it recently","it was already installed on pc, just haven't been playing it recently" and "i had it laying around for some time" - then go to the official rohan website and redownload the client. Looks like your client is outdated.

4) if none of the above...ehm, then idk - proceed to 5 :O.

1."Don't download list file" Patch server not available

2."Failed to download file" = you lost connection with the patch server

3."Rohan Online already running" = Delete Rohan folder and reinstall game (don't do this - outdated)

4."Failed to load Gem.cfg-0" = Bad download or bad install. Need to reinstall

How to fix :
A-Remove rohan and delete all folder.Then reinstall.
B-(When A doesn't work) Go to your Rohan folder and rename rohanclient.exe to fairyclient.exe. Next run loader.exe let it update

Delete cookies, cache, flush DNS, etc.
If it were serverbound, i'd take it more people would have the issue(?).

But I think what causing the problem is that your game in outdated... try launching the Launcher sometime to update...

I've been there and tried that while researching the problem. Never seen that approach work with any consistency. The OP is not complaining that the game won't run, but that running it is inconsistent and very fragile.

GameGuard is one of the most fragile and trouble-prone pieces of crap rootkits in existence. I have banking security software installed and you know what? GameGuard thinks it is hacking software and refuses to run on my system until I uninstall it. LOL. When it comes to uninstalling software guess which one loses that contest (Hint: I am very committed to security of my bank accounts).
