On one hand, it's an excellent incentive to log in and play. (logging in is what keeps people here, obviously. Hence the login events, play to win, etc..)
On the other, I see it as something players will take for granted, which is the case more often than not, and expect this to continue on long after the "event'' ends. When it does not, forum posts and tickets about "bring dynamic exp rates back" will start pouring in.
YNK can never win, really. Any time they do something to help the players out, it always backfires(for example, "bring back upgrades" comments).
I appreciate their efforts at attempting to appease peoples complaints...but as stated, people take it for granted. Give em an inch, they take a mile. Temporary events like this, people want permanently.
People keep wanting this game to turn into a pserver. OP weapons always available. High exp rates always available. Everyone wants to fast track to the end game with minimal effort.
Upgrades are always available... For a cost on EM.
High exp rates are always available... for a cost on IM.
I see nothing but complaints about how things should be kept constant because people missed out on it... when it was cheap.
Fact of the matter is, these things(once put out) have always been available.
You want high exp rates? Buy scrolls. Want an upgrade? Buy one off EM.
Prices too high because upgs are rare or prices too high on good scrolls because game parlor only, is next complaint afterwards.
How many of the people actually complaining about these things actually farm and work for what they get, rather than let their money do the work for them?
Everyone wants something for little to no cost or they're not happy.

Just like anything else in this game, for now people are happy. Once it stops because it was a compensation event, the QQing will begin.

Before the personal attacks start rolling in, i will say I am content with the high prices. I just wont buy it if i dont agree on price or make various trades for things untili can afford my end goal. Yes, i have spent thousands of USD on this game over the years. Yes, i've also farmed a **** ton in order to acquire the things i want. I still view nothing as unobtainable.
The only things i see a problem with are things like absolutes sets(which are even more rare than most upgs) and forging rates(which were fine when Atzigan[he made excellent attempts at working with players on fixing that mess, when i last played] was around but no longer).
Keeping upgrades out has got nothing to do with it being an event that has backfired, but everything with a failed marketingstrategy (epics). Keeping these out of the game in its current state is a mistake. They are a necessity for today's gameplay.
It's not so much the OP damage that is required, but the extra survivability these weapons give.

IM does not provide "high exp rates", they provide a certain boost, but even then it's not likely to call them anywhere near "high". Even with these fluctuating exp rates, scrolls are mandatory to keep your lvling speed somewhat decent. Having higher exp rates, will not - if hardly, affect IM scroll sales.

Even more so, people are more inclined to pop a scroll, knowing that there are higher rates. They feel it being more value for their money. Which it is.

In the same fashion, one cannot then complain about forge rates. However, if we are to depend on the current ingame weapon drops/EM - having zero to no forge rates / refinement rates or any other rate is just as nefast for the gameplay.
You can hardly state that current exp rates are "high". It takes you a month of every day farming to gain what? 2.5lvls? .. and it only gets slower and slower. That's between a year and two years to make 50 levels.

2 years of doing the same repetitive content.
And you shouldn't be doing too much anything else in between or you won't make it "that fast". 2 years of hunterknitting to get to your endgame play. That's 2 years wasted in my book.
Make it quick, make it fun and make it so that there's able pvp at the finishline (read: more / better balanced weapons and gear).

If you are using 300% scroll (for example) you shouldn't feel any difference, because the average +50% boost compared to the already existing (300+100)% will mean only a 50/400=12.5% difference. If you have more boosts than just the 300% scroll then the difference will be even less.

I would not think the randomness could make leveling exciting or interesting, because 1) leveling these days means 24/7 afk hk botting and 2) in the long run it does not really matter if it was constant average or random.

Ive liked the extra boosted exp. Even if it isnt a huge amount, every bit little bit helps.

I got some nice (by my standards that is) exp over the last few days and thats even with being pked every 10 minutes in sunken.

Not long til my next ulti lvl D

I agree with most parts of what you're saying. Upgrds every now and then should be a must but considering the game could have a nice player boost they should keep a weapon and armor for those that want to spend on it to make things a little bit more easy in the lvling department or want a fast ticket to PvP at medium lvls. I consider this Dynamic exp rates a good idea to keep players interested in lvling.
Like hey this 2-3 days we will have a 60% exp boost in the server come and pop your characters to lvl up fast and here are some nice scrolls and seals to help you out while we make some profit from it at the same time
Rates in this game haven't been good since Ran days so there should be some tuning up or at least return us the weekend rate boosts from the past that a lot of old players enjoyed.
The real competition this game has are the pservers so making the game more appealing to the players is a must because you don't want them to run off with your money to someone else server just to quit cause they ended up being scammed by that server.

    Pos:
-iRohan is mostly stable when it comes that the server wont close anytime soon.
-With all its ups and downs it keeps a fair amount of players.
-2 different server with different choices of gearing.
-Revamped skills to keep use playing.
-EM where you can gear up selling stuff from the game.

    Neg:
    -Mostly expensive game.
    -Some salty players.
-Elite items are hard to get if not very expensive.
-Gap between spenders and free players is mostly huge.

BTW hope you can deal with your hatters if you are expecting personal attacks

Ways to know if there's a real EXP BOOST or not. Create a level 1 Character and kill a VARG inside a Tutorial Ground for newbies. Exp on a normal rates was 88% gained by killing a 1 VARG.

Yea Im in Lucid so we are kos to E2n/ their alt guilds and anyone else that wanna have a go at us lol.

Last night e2n were venging us and killin our party hard and no matter where we went, they would find us. And because our party is made up of half hk chars/ afk ppls, its hard to keep fighting back and their main dhans hurt soooo bad.

I think we died atleast 15 times in the space of a few hours.
