The only reason those things are selling for so much is that there are silly people in this game desperate enough to actually pay it.

Look at it this way, if you have one of the best upgrade 3.0's in the game and throw it on EM for 40K, what will you do when nobody buys it? Keep trying to sell it for 40K? Or will you lower the price to say 35K? If nobody buys it at 35K what will you do?

Same thing happened with the with the upgrade 1.0's years ago. People were putting them up for 90L, 100k, even 150K and getting it. Prices were nuts because people were desperate and paid them. Lots more people threw up their hands and left the game because of the omgwtfbbq prices. As the number of players started flatlining and buyers went away, prices dropped like mad.

the short of it...
Prices are high because people pay them. If people don't pay them, demand drops and so do prices.
So you don't want to spend enough to buy a small car for an upgrade 3? Then don't!
