Not constantly. Many left, played pservers / other games, then came back after a few years after recovering their bank accounts for a little while. 9 out of 10 of those didn't hang around though.

Origin brought a lot of real veterans back to check things out. A lot of those have already left again as well. One of the reasons I don't bother to play here anymore is because all of the people I knew or gave a hoot about over the last 9 years are long gone. Every single one of them got sick and tired of playing this game and only pop in on the forums when they get in the mood. No point in hanging around, so I get my jollys out of trolling the guys still trying to play a game that has died years ago.
