    How to Test your Connection (INFORMATIVE 📜)

    I want to know a method to know how to avoid disconnection issues with my clients and how to check my ping.

    Hello Rohanians!

    If you're experiencing delay or lots of constant disconnection issues (such as error 100-5101) don't panic! We're sharing a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to determine what could be the possible cause and figure out the possible solution according to your case. Consider the following troubleshooting:

    I. Network Metrics:

    > Testing your Ping (Latency) and Packet Loss

    High ping and packet loss are key metrics that influence a lot in a stable connection.

    (FOR WINDOWS 10/11 USERS)

    OPENING RESOURCE MONITOR (3 METHODS)

    1) Open Resource Monitor directly from your Start Menu:

    Click the Start button.
    Type "Resource Monitor" in the search box.
    Select "Resource Monitor" from the search results.



    2) Open Resource Monitor directly from Run Menu:

    Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    Type resmon and press Enter.




    iiii) Via Task Manager:

    Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager -> "Performance" tab -> Open Resource Monitor:




    CHECKING LATENCY & PACKET LOSS

    In Resource Monitor, go to the "Network" tab, and check on rohanclient.exe. Next, focus on the "Latency (ms)" and the Packet Loss (%).



    Note: In case you're using the optimized version please checkmark the rohanclient_opt in the Task Manager. (1 check for every client)



    ESTIMATED PING VALUES

    Asia to REV (NA) Server
    East Asia (Japan, South Korea): 150-250 ms
    Southeast Asia (Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia): 200-300 ms

    Europe to REV (NA) Server
    Western Europe (UK, Netherlands, Germany, France): 150-200 ms
    Southern Europe (Italy, Spain): 120-200 ms


    In case of High Ping (Latency):
    If your ping is consistently above 300-400ms (high), you might try one of the measures indicated in the next chapter of this guide.

    If you notice packet loss:
    (e.g., 4% packet loss), this can lead to disconnections. To address this:
    -> Check your router's health and ensure there are no physical cable issues.
    -> Consider a high bandwidth Ethernet connection for greater stability.
    -> Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) Technical Service to investigate and resolve the packet loss issue.


    > Actions to take to mitigate this problem



    If none of the recommended measures improves the situation, please send a GM through any official channel (Discord, Ticket, Facebook, Instagram) the following template:

    1) IGN (Name) of your character(s):
    2) Type of error you're getting (Screenshot/Evidence):
    3) Country:
    4) ISP Provider (Indihome/Telkomsel/Other):
    5) Have you conducted network tests (ping tests, speed tests) to check your connection's stability, is your connection OK? (yes/no)
    6) Your IPv4/IPv6 Adress according to this webpage: (https://whatismyipaddress.com/)


    II. GM Notes:

    > Using WinMTR:

    * If we weren't able to identify connection issues with your Latency and Packet Loss Tests, we may ask you to run a WinMTR test. Because this test requires the use of a 3rd-party program, we will only ask for it during special cases. Follow the steps below to perform this test.

    > About Tunneling Programs & VPN:

    * While it's true that using VPNs and tunneling programs like ExitLag can often help resolve connectivity issues by optimizing your route to the game server, not all players have access to or use these programs. So please make sure to apply your validations correctly first.
