AFAIK, the whole of PWi's services are virtual items - chargebacks are "a thing" for sure. As for the one character/account thing.. IMHO if you RMT, you have no interest for RPs and as such, it's usually done when one quits the game altogether.
However, point taken, let's assume that's not the case and they indeed want to sell just one character ..

.. that's exactly why the above is a bad idea, and thus the 'protest' so to speak. It makes no sense and essentially just creates a backdoor for everyone wanting to either RMT and/or avoid the EM taxes. Whatever way you look at it, it's still a loss marketing wise.
Which is also a reason why bans are usually not discussed on forums and limited to tickets only.

That being said, OP still deserves a ban. Not for 'sniping' (unless otherwise proved), but for blackmailing (proved). Which, in fact, is a criminal offense.

Theft is also a criminal offense. If it's valued over a certain amount in the US then it can become grand larceny. A felony offense.
Then there's this thing called theft by deception. Which GMs call sharing. No support given in that case.

Again, choosing and picking which laws they want to enforce, which to bend, and which to ignore completely.

Sharing is defined by the GMs as giving another person access to your acct/items. Once your char is on EM, you just made it available to anyone with enough RP to purchase it. Sharing by definition.

It's not a theft if someone puts something up for a low price and you buy it on a normal legal way. It's a theft if the person didn't put it up for selling him/herself - but he did.

Going off of the content of about 95% of your posts, no more than you were. I can assure you.

Let me attempt to break this down into a grade school level of understanding for you.
Putting your char on EM is like leaving the SZ. You are no longer protected by game mechanics.
When you leave SZ, if you dont want to die, you protect yourself with armor, DD, weap, rings, etc... on EM you would protect your assets by setting a reasonable price.
Setting price at 1,111 is like leaving sz with no weap, no rings, and wearing only E.Fro armor. Sure, some people wont be able to kill you... but there will still be people who can.
Leaving SZ to buff someone would equate to putting it on EM for sole purpose of transferring. Since leaving to buff you would have no intention of PvP. So it would be unfair if someone attacks you, according to your logic.

But, hey, w/e. I guess bending rules and favoritism is a perk of being a GM.
So, because of the outcome of this, if I were to simply place a 115+50 char on EM for 100 RPs with the title as "Transferring accts, dont buy" and someone buys it, they would then be banned and i would get my char back?
I'd be fine with that. Will save me a few RPs next time i want to transfer beze/rulers/chars to other accts.

Lost items/character by transfer with cheap price is nothing new, This happened with many ppl since long time ago till now

From my real experience.. at long time ago I was transfer some items by cheap price, I'm sure I can do it within 5 sec but at the end I lost it because someone faster more than me (I got lesson from that time and never transfer with cheap price anymore), I'm feel sad just a little bit but I can agree it

2-3 time I'm checking EM and click inside item, and see boss drop come with town stone sometime come with potion by 100-200rps only, just sad I didn't login (I'm always check EM without login) when I login and gonna buy.. it already on sold list (lets say if i was logged EM account, that boss drop should be purchased by me)

So.. what I'm gonna say is you never know how many ppl watching EM page at that time, and if someone faster more than you that not surprise, it can be possible by lucky man / lucky time

I'm also knew some people lost character by transfer with cheap price, but that happened 2 years ago

Summarize If you gonna transfer some item/character and you think that item/character is important for you, just protect yourself by not transfer with cheap price, don't risk just because you think you can do it within few sec.

Well the thing is i paid 35k to get my char back GM's didnt give my char back , i bought it back luckily xD
The only thing i care about is if this person were useing hacks or not, i guess we will find out xD

Last nite I posted to Karazy some ways how automated sniping works and what can be done about it. I will not share the former with you but will share the latter.

Ways to eliminate automated character/item sniping:

Option A) Player lists item/character. An automatic 12 hour freeze on purchases of that character EXCEPT by a person with the same IP address as the seller. A seller can have multiple accounts and transfer between them without waiting the 12 hours. Anybody else waits 12 hours before the buy function is enabled for them.

Pros:

1. Removes RMT from the equation since anybody other than the current owner has to wait 12 hours before then can buy the character. If the current owner uses a VPN and their IP address changes, Too Bad. they have to wait 12 hours too.
2. Removes the sniping risk to the original owner.
3. Allows transfer of character between your own accounts at less cost.
4. It is not a huge change to the EM php code since IPs are tracked for these transactions anyway. May require a couple new database columns for the cooling period and originator IP.
5. Even providing a buyer with the second account info and EM password cannot circumvent the cooldown period because of the IP address requirement.

Cons:

1. Requires modification of the EM store code to handle the extra cooling period
2. Introduces a long waiting period on all EM transactions. Impatient buyers will be put off by that.
3. No instant sales negotiated in Forums and executed in EM.

Option B) PlayWith creates a paid service, much like the one that is used for renames and gender changes, that transfers characters. Only happens during Maintenance. Character must be 'stripped' and sealed as currently required for paid services. EM password has to be provided for both buying and selling accounts.

Pros

1. PWI can place an appropriate charge on this service and possibly ask only RPs (rather than ecash) for it - direct income.
2. A little more formal method for transferring characters that gives PWI a little more control over the transaction.
3. Reduces RMT by requiring both EM passwords for both accounts. Not perfect because IP checks are not so easily done but now many buyers will be willing to trust a seller his EM password?

Cons:

• Not as secure as the first option
• Requires the creation of a completely new paid service - more work
• Requires manual GM intervention during maintenance

It is very difficult to prove a sniperbot is being used. Could as well have been simple dumb luck. However this guy has a reputation of sniping EM.

Yeah how come its blackmailing? When the owner want his character back. OP could have sold the said "115+50" character to anyone but he sold it back to the real owner in exchange of what its really worth in RPS ( maybe half of what its worth 50-60k rps maybe? )

id pay 1k rps per conqueror lvl after +10 so thats 40k rps + whatever you value a +10 char at (18k rps?) thats 58k rps

if anything getting the char back for 35k rps is a slap on the wrist I would have kept the fking thing.

1220 in primary stat + 100 all stats + 100 all stat star of victory and then you can work on transcendence title you can make a godlyke character and we have race change? id have kept that char
