There are settings from Nvidia that can affect some games. For example, If I put my settings to "High" my game State of Decay will not display things properly and frame skip is evident. The lag that you mentioned is not really a lag, it's Frame skip. It means your laptop is not displaying the images properly. This could also be the fault of your Power Management settings.
