Yeah it is too hard to understand. I mean...even if I agreed with you that this would be how to fix blunt mastery, which I don't its got more problems beyond what you mention, I still can't comprehend why you would want to base the int divisor off a value that would have to constantly be adjusted any time stat inflation was added to the game. You could just cap the multiplier.
Plus you simply can't balance around a specific value once the numbers get too big. You say you need to be within 500 int points of your divisor to keep it balanced. What happens your sitting on 2k int pre-buffs. Suddenly just a 30% alm scroll adds 600 int, plus non-class buffs like alm. What do you balance around...if you balance around self buff only, then full buffed temp is still OP, you'd be way over your 500 point range you mention, and if you balance around a full buffed temp some self buffed guy trying to level gets pooped on.
