Newbie Question for Snatch

I would just like to ask what would happen if Walock uses Lvl7 Snatch(1hr) on a target with buff that lasts for 30mins only. Would the stolen buff last for 1hr on the warlock?

If yes, the stolen buff would last on warlock for 1hr, how about if the warlock Snatches a buff the lasts 15 secs of the target, (those short durations buffs). Would it last 1hr on the warlock or just 15 secs?

If it is 15 secs on this example, and on the other scenario it lasts 1hr (from stolen 30 min buff), it appears it is not consistent. How would we know, if a buff would last as 1hr, or just use the real duration of the buff?

No the warlock gets the buff at its lvl with the duration its supposed to have. The 1 hr is a maximum duration so if a buff lasts 2 hrs you only get 1 hr.

Thanks for the reply. Is that how it goes it Savage Pillage's skill as well? For example, a Target casts a Lvl 7 buff 1 hr duration on itself. After 30mins, Savage steals it. Will it be 1hr on Savage, or 30mins?

Same logic:

Lvl 7 buff determines MAX duration if its 1 hr thats what you get.

Is there a limitation to what buffs can be stolen? Or any buffs can be stolen by snatch / Pillage? For example, many years ago, there are buffs can be casted on others, and there are skills that are only self buffs. Can Snatch/Pillage steal only those buffs that can be casted to others? Or they can steal also those self buff skills?

The only skill I remember not being able to snatch was defender's blunt mastery at the same time as templar's blunt mastery (which also didnt work when defenders could cast it on others) just give it a shot most skills are snatch-able.

Thanks for your response. I have been trying to Pillage Berserker's Berserk. I currently only have lvl. 2 Pillage, which means it has 60% chance to steal. But I have been trying for several days now, but I cant still steal it. Maybe in a day or 2, I will upgrade it using Ancient Stone, and I would be level 105, so my Pillage would be level 4, and that is 80%. I hope it works. Do u think Berserk can be stolen?

There is a whole range of buffs you can and also a whole range of buffs you cannot steal, i'm too lazy to compile a list but many buffs cannot be stolen/snatched. also take in mind that the pillage skill can be resisted/blocked/parried and thus will fail to take a buff but will go on cooldown. A maid pet will help you to steal buffs faster. Snatch cannot be resisted to my knowledge.

yup zerk/evolve buffs can't be stolen, nor can intel buff from dragon sage. you can however steal Power Heavy Armor (Fixation in the past) or guard's Crazy Swing (blue swirl) which is pretty useless but quite funny

Thanks guys, thats what I figured. Could u pls give me suggestions what skills are good to Pillage for a STR Savage? What I could think of right now is Dhan crit % increase, and Dhan Str Buff increase. Can these two be stolen? May I ask for suggestions? Thanks again.

change your savage to full int and steal templar's blunt mastery and other buffs.

The thing is that str is literally useless because:

1: Str is inflated melee which is greatly reduced by pdef
2: While you can steal all the str buffs in the game you can't reliably steal the damage steroids that make guards work.

You need reliable damage (which you get from blunt mastery) and all the crit boosters you can get in the game from all the classes.

Thanks, I understand (I just read your comments on a thread about Pure Melee). It's just that if I go INT now, and when I leave while in HK, then stolen buffs expires, the damage vs mobs would be lower as compared to if im on STR. Im just lvl 107, so I have to rely on Str to lvl up. Kindly help me on this concern, my Pillage is lvl 6 now (90% chance), but so far, I HAVE NOT been able to steal ANY skill. I made 4 Level 30 characters, and have been trying to steal from them from time to time. But NO skill was stolen. Should d lvl of d caster and target be close to steal the buffs?

which buffs have you been trying to steal? Best buff to take if you are STR are:
1. Sharpen Melee (Scout, gives you 75% damage boost on anything hit in a 5 meter range)
2. Xbow mastery (Ranger, 70% attackspeed)
3. Human both str buffs (Guard: 60% +50%)

Stay as str for now and attend the power arena until the end of the season for those exp pouches so you can hit 115 + xyz

I don't know how good a self-buff savage is in endgame content you can probably stay str. Honestly the INT thing is mainly run by people who only pvp with their characters and some specialty pve like boss hunting because of the reasons you specified. Is a savage self buff capable of doing mirror dungeons and more? probably not but maybe a good party support with the heal totem or something.

fairly accurate, the 60% attackspeed totem lasts 300 sec and cooldown 60 sec so you can have it up permanently, it's a very decent party support. if you top notch gear it, it can solo mirror dungeons, however in abyss maps it's not useful.

Thanks for this. I missed the Scout Sharp Melee and Ranger Xbow buffs. What I was trying to steal was Dhan + %crit chance, and Dhan STR Buff.

Should d lvl of d caster and target be close to steal the buffs? I have been trying to steal from low lvl characters, and it doesn't seem to work

There is lvl based resistance so you should be close in lvls to successfully snatch buffs.
