Fix the Trinity Arrendal - Here's how:

Background

The trinity race does not use standard weapons. Instead they have an Arrendal that is tightly bound to the character itself. In order to modify the attributes of that Arrendal you must use a one-way process called transmuting where by the attributes of an original weapon are transferred to the Arrendal. As a part of this process the source weapon is destroyed upon a successful transmute. If a high-value weapon is used for transmuting, it is essentially destroyed and its stats permanently bound to the Trinity character. Transmuting a second item into that Arrendal will completely replace the previous stats.

Because Arrendal's cannot be sold apart from the Trinity character, and there is no way to either restore the original weapon ot extract the Arrendal's 'essence', the value of the original weapon is lost forever. This does not sit well with many players.

Proposals

I have 2 proposals here:

1. Restore the original item.

Instead of destroying the source weapon on successful transmute, why not store the item's unique ID in the data of the Arrendal into which it transmuted. Also set the equip level of the original item to 255 to remove the possiblity of ever equipping that weapon. 'Drain' the attributes of the weapon (zero them) except for enhancement level. Finally set the weapon to non-tradeable to remove the possibility of players scamming others by selling 'drained' weapons.

To restore the weapon, only original 'drained' weapons that have a level of 255 can be used. Attempting to restore a non-drained weapon with a different unique id that has a level other than 255 will not be accepted for restoring.

On successful restore:

The Arrendal is 'drained' and set back to a virgin state (except for enhancement level).
The restored item's stats are restored. Enhancement level is not changed and weapon level is set to the standard level for that weapon type.

Restoring can use the same chance/preservation stones as transmuting to provide an additional income source.
Original weapon is restored with the exception of level
No loss of gaming value to players.

2. Extract the Arrendal

This proposal requires the creation of a new item type to be used as the blank Arrendal Extract Material - which may be purchased in IM.

The transmute remains unchanged with the source item being destroyed on success.

To extract the Arrendal, the reverse of transmute is used to extract the attributes and place them into the blank Arrendal Extract Material.

The extract takes 2 components: The arrendal, The Blank Arrendal Extract Material. Since the blank material is purchased, a preservation stone is not needed.

Failed extracts destroys the Blank Arrendal Extract Material.
Successful extract 'fills' the extract material with the Arrendal attributes (enhancement level and not copied, but current Arrendal level is). The Arrendal is reset to virgin state except for enhancement and equip levels.

To transmute into any other Arrendal, simply use it as a Arrendal Extract Material in the place of an Ancient Weapon during transmute. All other rules like level checking apply.

With this scheme, the 'filled' Arrendal Extract Material may be bought and sold on the Exchange market. It is also tradeable like any other weapon. Care would be needed to show stats of the material in the black box in EM so players have some idea what they are buying

No idea is perfect. I am sure there are exploitable holes in my proposals, but I think I have covered off the most obvious means of exploiting this.

@PlayWith Staff, please look this over and give it some consideration. My consulting services are available if you need help in implementing it. Not only does this help the Trinity race better fit into Rohan, it also provides extra means for RP usage by players as they buy even more expensive Transmute Pres stones and Arrendal Extract Materials

Proposal 2 seems better to me as well as easier to implement, but I dont know anything about the workings of the game xD.

Option #1 seems complicated but makes the most sense since it lets you revert back to a weapon instead of having a large supply of adrenal-ed weapons floating on the EM.

I like both ideas but add to them:
3. Copies the properties of X weapon without destroying it and it will keep the Arendal none trade able but still the same system. Success wont destroy the weapon just a copy paste of the options. Failure will delete any option in the Arendal but the weapon stays without change.
With this option player can change Arendal stats as they want without loosing said expensive weapon. Press, Success option stones and/or crones will be required for said system.

Like i really do not give a single crap how much it costs to transmute your weapon with your arrendal weapon , I paid 3.4k , been there done that , **** it , i just want my arrendal with my upgraded weapon inside of it to be tradable so i can sell it at least or my upgrade katar that i used back.Damn crappy new class sucks mad balls , I won't do that mistake ever again.It only made vit classes more OP , and thats it.

Both of the proposals I have presented preserve the valuable weapons you create either in the Arrendal, their original (but disabled) form or as an Extract material. The problem with simply copying the weapon into the Arrendal is just that it leaves both being fully usable. PWI will not want that as it is super easy to exploit. Can you imagine the chaos as those with the best weapons start 'renting' them to all their pals so they can copy them into Arrendals? Next thing you know is you have hundreds of Noirs running around with the best upgrade-statted Arrendals in the game.

My proposals permit there to be only one usable weapon with that set of attributes at any given time - either the Arrendal or the source weapon, but not both. It would not be possible to transmute a 'drained' weapon and once an Arrendal Extract Material has been successfully transmited into an Arrendal, it is destroyed like any other weapon today.

Point taken, but at present their system is half-baked. It needs to be completed and I have a feeling they have no idea how to do that. I am simply helping them along with ideas that any good developer with access to the game source code could put into place.

And there is the business benefit of another RP sink in the game where people must buy expensive preservation stones and/or Extraction materials. Those with expensive game gear will be less reluctant to transmute them if there is a way to get them back when they want to move on to something else - even if getting them back costs some cash.

I know that my idea is exploitable but this Race in all has a huge wall for any player that wants to play it. This system is unnecessary and useless just even having new types of armor is unnecessary and useless. They give what? accuracy, 80 melee/magic full set who thought of this when updg able boss drops have all stat, atk and hp on them. This is another unnecessary add to the game. The weapon system is another rp sucking machine. With upgds in this game and upgd boss drops it was more than enough. Just add another dung, Boss, arena or another continent to the game its getting boring this rp sucking machines they are adding.

I've given this one a little thought.

The problem with most ideas posted in the forums is that most are ideas that benefit the player either to enable them to spend less money or level faster with no analysis provided how it would benefit PlayWith.

If you post an idea that either lets the player do something for free of at less $ cost than originally designed, PlayWith will not consider it. F2P Game publishers are most interested in getting you, the player, to spend money playing their game. If you idea does relate to that goal, they will not consider it. Ideas cost them (PWYNK) money to make into reality and there mist be a fast payback strategy for them to consider it.

In this case I have repeatedly let PW know there is an issue with the Trinity race that needs to be resolved (some players here call it QQing). I have told them that most players will not use their expensive virtual goods for this purpose with no way of preserving and moving those expensive virtual goods between characters.

In this thread I have provided possible solutions that could be implemented without much difficulty along with a strategy of using that solution to make extra income from the game's players.

If they like the ideas, I am sure they will let me know. If they don't, they most likely will not.

In any case it was fun dreaming it up.

fixing Blunt Mastery, make items from Item Mal tradeable in game (stil profit for ynk, cuz they wil sell more stuf), fix for dc in instance, and many more, and NOTHING was done. Play With recipe for $$$, "Grind Slow, Drop Les Items, Buy More IM stuff = $$$" And it's al ok, but atleast consider our Ideas and point of view about this game.

You are confusing free2play with free2play easily. They are not the same and a game publisher has to make money to keep the game available for you.

Fix Blunt : What quick profit does this provide? Will it draw new players and get them spending money? How?

Make items from IM tradeable: How does this get people to spend more money? If one account/character gets a perma mount, how does it make more money for PW if they can simply trade it to another account/char rather than forcing that other account/char to buy its own? Which one makes them more money? IMHO people would buy LESS from IM rather than more if they were tradeable.

DC: Well, just about anything can cause a DC/crash. Show me any MMO game that doesn't DC/crash on at least some of its players. Most common for Rohan these days is a flakey product called GameGuard. These guys need something to prevent hacking and GameGuard was the choice when th4e game was originally created. I don't see them going to some other AH solution at this late date. Do you perhaps have an alternative for them to use that costs the same or less to use and does not require coding to integrate?

Other DC issues is from internet messaging glitches. Let's face it the Internet is a really unstable form of communication. Relay servers on a TCP/IP route go up and down all the time at any random time. When that happens messages have to reroute and sometimes get lost/need to be resent. If a timeout happens during critical conversations a crash or DC happens. Don't blame the game - the Internet can be really unstable at times regardless of where you live. How does fixing this make them more money? People are not here simply because the game doesn't DC. I never really based playing a game on its hardiness in client/server interaction. Very few others I know do.

Blunt Mastery is OP don't tell me it's not, no other mele class can kill u in less than 3sec using only mele attacks, yes fixing (balancing classes) will bring more players 2game,

Tradeable Utem Mall items can be sealed, after unsealing they r bind to character/account, = more items sold from IM, more crones transactions in game, there will always be players who want something from IM but they dont have RP, so players with RP can buy items from IM and sell them in game for crones. I see profit only U don't?

DC in dungeons like minor/inter/ash- many times i was kicked from dungeon cuz my partner get DC (yesterday in boss stage), there is just not enought time for him to log in again and enter dungeon, 10min will be enough. I usually go to that dungeons in 2-3 party squad, it's hard 2find ppls who want to do dung 4me, 2many ppl AFK in PM.

And as BananaBandit said giving ideas that help players and makes money for PWI should be the right way to go. I personally like the crafted weapons, i find them being helpful for both p2w and f2p players and they keep making money for PWI. Plus this kind of weapons and armors are handy in any type of situation. Maybe keeping this weapons easier to get in game is better because we still need to reinforce it = $, Spirit stones = $$ and maintain it = more $$$ if you want to be competitive. Upgds are superior ofc.

Yes Absolutely temps have ruled this game for years because of their totally f**ked up double-dip blunt strategy. No class should be able to apply both Melee and Magic attack items to get double benefits. I wholeheartedly agree that is is a problem with the design of this game. But what do you think would happen with all the players that play temps here (about 80% of the population here) if they fixed that? Temps would no longer be the go-to class. No more forging Melee upgrade clubs. Other classes will slow down creating upgrades because they no longer need them to survive temps.

We now have Trinity characters to be the anti-Templars. And so far they are doing a pretty good job at it regardless of my feeling about their poor integration into the game. Do they now need to fix templars? Not so sure. And what would be the payback for them (beyond having a large percentage of their server population ragequitting because of it)?

Again, if you can freely trade the stuff you buy in IM, what reason does the people you are trading them to have to buy their own? PW wants not only you spending money for RPs, but they also want those guys spending money for RPs too. They do not see a tactical advantage to letting people buy stuff in IM, then sell it for crones (or ecash in EM - which is a whole other can of worms). The logistics trying to manage that is insane.

Sure some pservers out there will let you trade IM stuff like scrolls & such, but they are not quite as dependent on income from virtual cash sales as a real company. pservers that do that also disappear really fast as soon as they find they can't support running their server - i have already seen that happen in more than one both from the plaayer side and the operational side. It ain't pretty when you give your players no reason to donate. Been there, done that and seen where it leads.

DCs suck. It makes no difference if you are in a dungeon or standing around out in the limestone war zone. Nor does the internet care where you are sitting when it happens. But there really is nothing at all PW can do about it. DCs happen in any MMO game. If that game has limited access instances, it usually means you are locked out when you come back. The game server really has no idea why you disappeared, only that you did. For all the server knows you shut down your computer and went to bed. So it assumes you did. Some games may let you resume if you come back in qiuckly (i.e. within a couple minutes) but most immediately throw away all the resources you were using to service more online players.

I'm having more fun playing Noir than Pred. I feel ashamed :(

Why should he have to? He doesn't have to do it with any other race in this game. Why only with Trinity? Would you you delete all your upgrade weapons? Why should anybody that plays a Trinity character? I agree that at this point it is beyond stupid to transmute an upgrade to a trinity character, but PlayWith fked up hard by not providing a means to extract it back out when you are done using that weapon on that character. Like any other race - if you equip it, you can unequip it and store it away in your bank and use something else.

LOL not the ynk foult my friends they gave you the info , people just conplain after the s**t its done now im sory but use your useles upg on trynity . i lvl mine too 110 only whyt the +1hp abs and 1mp abs so was for wat too show eveery one you have a 2 week char whyt upg ? LOL sad isent it ?

Rumir and Noir are awesome, kinda unfair that their weapons r bind, but as utility characters are Gr8

So, the only reason you're opposed to this suggested change is because you can't/don't want to get an Upgrade weapon.

PlayWith's fkup is that they did not provide a way to extract the weapon stats back out of the arrendal when they released Trinity. If they had thought things through a little more before rushing this release out there, nobody would be objecting to it.

I have posted on the OP using my BananaBandit on how they can fix it. All they have to do is read that and give it over to their devs to make it happen. Once that is in place, poof! Mo more pissed off players that spent $200 on an upgrade and wound up exclusively binding it to a character.

You realize that in any other race if you have a bound weapon, you can unequip that weapon, equip something else - even another bound weapon, unequip that and reequip the original bound weapon. You cvan do that with as many weapons as you want as long as they are suited to your race. Can you do that with Trinity? No. Why? Because Trinity is a half-baked patch on a game by devs that had no clue how to expand the game in the first place. In short Trinity was hacked in with bandaids and chewing gum.
