Existence of mage in end game

I've question about end game related.
As far as I know, every game design mage as damage dealer or utility. But since Seal is simpler in the term of gameplay, mage should be known as damage dealer.

But majority of other class also excell at damage dealer.
Lets say Assassin who can overwhelm enemy in pvp, gambler who can dish out damage with very high aspd or gunner who can took enemy out with critical hit.

Mage don't have these qualities.
Their range outclassed by gambler. Their high damage skill is outclassed by gunner. And even their utility (immolation, freeze, mana shield) outclassed by renegade (break debuff and other stuff).

I wondering if mage worth a role as end game class.
Like, how rarely people inviting Fire wizard or Ice to join raid, alcanez or hunting boss.
I also never join warzone, so I never saw how mage competing with other class.
Can someone tell me ?

I feel like they should buff mage because mage supposed to be great in attacking but fragile.

i have same opinion with you. when first time i play mage i think fire wizard have great damage, thats why i choose to use fire wizard. but in seal BoD the fire wizard great damage only applies when you fight with monster only. But in PVP, fire wizard have BUG thats why he damage not equal with when you fight with monster. i Hope GM will fix this problem. FYI, i always playing my fire wizard in Warzone in duran only to take a chance to win a golden chest key :D. Until now i have opinion that fire wizard have BUG when PVP (CMIIW). Thank (my FW Lv 213).

Is that even a bug ? I thought every class will get adjustment between pvp and pve.
Also are flame shield work well (feedback 2k damage / hit ?)

There are still those that join warzone using either a fire wizard or an ice wizard just like ChaosWar there. Although the most probable to survive the chaos ensuing during warzone are the ice wizards if they put enough vit to lengthen their lifespan and be a support by freezing the enemies. Yes, wizards in PvP dont have that much "Fire" power (pun intended) as of right now. but if they do get fixed well that would be an entirely new story, imagine the nuke damage of it. But one can only stand by in the shadows until the rise of the these elemental wielders, oh and wizards can still join raids if you just have friends to invite you they may not be the most popular in terms of playing dodgeball with the gamblers but hey its still a decent damage when used properly.

There's a lot of view points regarding Mage, i will share my opinion here:

For fire Wizard:

Why play fire wizard:
For Hunting:
- A lot of possibilities of build. You can build it as 1v1 or aoe (Focus on one)
- No buff, no problem means you can always solo hunt if you want
- Almost No Miss for skills
- Easy Life (1 or 2 skills only for each bale)

For War Zone (for this one, i will explain in detail):
- It'd be best to build tank (High survivability) Fire wizard. Even if you invest some points to int, the damage won't increase a lot. (due to bug)
FYI : I was one of the last survival during Warzone, where they need to gank on me.
- Circle of Fire is the worst enemy for Gambler. It will return 200 dmg for each hit.
- Gamblers from your team will be able to masquerade you for magic attack buff.
- You can blink using staff booster, you can get whooping 400 defense buff, and you have high chance of aoe immobilize. <-- not 100%
Pieces of advice:
- Don't die or disconnect because you are needed till the end of Warzone. (at least till all of your gamblers die)
- You have to invest all into vit and wis (please do this only if you are not hunting anymore).
- Always make sure your mana shield is ON. (for vit and wis build)
- Time your Flame shield and Staff Booster usage because they have a long cool down time. (The good timed Flame shield and staff booster will be the key of winning)
- Always use Aoe Skills, only use job 1's 1 v 1 skills in case you are protecting your apostle.
- Avoid assassin as much as possible! (For now, berserker's combo is bugged, so i won't mention it. if it got fixed, totally avoid berserker at all cost!)

For Ice Wizard, will be explained on separate reply.

The conclusion is:
You choose Mage if you need a class that has a lot of potential and hard to play.
If you build and master the key usage correctly, you will be able to lead your team to victory.

And you mean 2k damage feedback work perfectly ? Thats a good news.
And earthquake has 100% chance to immobilize at lv 5 ?

And I don't know much about bug in this game.
Is this supposed "second class skill never work correctly" bug that GM never respond because they could potentially break the warzone?

I don't know if you have spoken with the GMs. They already mentioned that the second class skills are bugged in PVP and they have notified the developers about it. Now, it's not their fault that there are still buggy skills. IMO, that only means the developers haven't sent them a solution/patch to fix it yet. So instead of pestering them about the skills, let's just wait for a fix.

Before I forget, while you wait for a patch to fix the damage in PVP, do consider going out to do PVE. Wizards can deal tons of damage with 1 skill so it's good to bring down monsters with high HP. Just go back after casting your spell and wait for cooldown. Also, don't hit the monsters first in you are in a party because doing so will attract a lot of aggro from those monsters and they will chase you. Just wait for a defender to provoke them and get their attention. Some Wizards don't know that and that's why they die first during Raids.

After doing a lot of researches,

1. The Earthquake skill not 100% stun, but it has a really high chance of doing so.

2. The only class and build that can kill stamina, wisdom build fire wizard is Gambler LUCK build. (tested Gunner, Magic build Gambler lv 251 and good gears).
PS: Ofc you can kill it without luck gambler if you gank on FW. Magic gambler with good gears deals less than 200 damage to FW by throwing good PF, which means the flame ring feedback hurts more.
Highest damage output from gunner is 2k if critical.

3. After testing it with some gamblers, luck gambler with the best possible equip can deals 10k damage using BJ if crit, while the magic build deals around 2-3k damage if crit.

4. Earthquake stops / interrupts the skill casting.

5. At unison server, Fire wizard will benefit from the additional AP growth which makes stamina and wisdom build is necessary to be applied.

6. At certain point, if you get some good gears, giga flame and phoenix will do 1 hit to spade. Yes, even phoenix will 1 hit. After resetting to stamina and wisdom, you can still 1 hit spade if using hellfire buff.

2. Whoah, this really took my interest.
I also never heard about Luck gambler. Does that mean they rely on skill rather than normal throwing ?
And 2k from gunner... is that critical headshot or normal hit ?
I really hope you share the stat spread and equip list for bothside.

2. Luck build gambler is bugged, it will do more damage than magic build gambler. luck build means investing status points to luck.
For Fire Wizard, THe status is Stamina and wisdom only (6:4), while the equips are jikael xg TBS with Brick hat XG.
For Gunner, If I'm not mistaken, Royal Blunderbuss XG, CCC.Xg.

So Black jack actually (before the bug count) using magic power rather than luck as multiplier ?
And 6:4 in lv 251 mean 450 vit and 300 wis ?
You forgot the acc of the gunner and the upgrade And RBB is lv 20x right ?
I wont surprise if the gunner only does 2k damage since both not at equal equip grade.

I dont have friend in game so I can't ask much about FW (so many people use Gunner/gambler/Assassin and they only care about offensive)

i myself also mage

you dont need to worry about the existence of mage in end game

because in seal kr mage has pretty big role as a support(utility) both in pve or pvp

just wait for the class balancing update

God... 4k is the immolation damage ?
Waiting is a pain on this slow server.
But there is a hope at least.

Any update for the mage class build newbie here and want to know more about it.

Since I only have fire wizard I will explain some. CMIIW
Changelog :
1. Mana shield duration is a lot shorter, but now will block more damage (it mean drain more mana too) 50% to 70%
2. Staff booster cooldown is shortened. Cost more mana but worth it.
3. Mega fire strike now has longer cast range (it was the shortest cast range after fireball)
4. Area skill get more damage, but still not worth for mage to mob (unless 2nd class area)
5. Phoenix animation look uglier (Just my opinion)
6. Immolation now deal a lot dps (it was 160?)

For fire wizard
1. New skill : Dancing flame. Has base power almost similiar to giga flame but leaving enemy with dps (it mean guarantee immolation).
2. Flame guard now increase more defense and in addition evasion too (def 400->800)
3. Hell fire now increase 150 MPW instead 80

For build, I suggest to play single until 230 (tipa/jika set) and maxing int
After that, you can build for WZ using clspet (tanky Fire/ bulky Ice) because mage job are ranged area control (dancing flame, earthquake, dps) with durability,
or keep became nuker.

For build, I have other opinion.....

For a Fire Wizard, you can play as mobber since level 170. You will have two area skills. The requirement, you have to have a Light Spirit battle pet level 7x. The battle pet will have skill:
- Recover (battle pet HP 10k) on lvl 42,
- Barrier(increase defense for the battle pet) on 48 and,
- Provoke(make monster attack battle pet, not char) on 62

Why? mage have the smallest defense of all classes. Light spirit have better defense. On 7x, have 600 defense (and increase magic power 6x-7x and move speed 2x for char). Make the battle pet as your tank for mobbing. While monsters attack your battle pet, use area skills on them!!!

With the updates, my fire wizard level 251, can damage only 3k on a Berseker (giga flame+hell fire). But with staff booster, warrior can't lock easily anymore.

- If you are PVP or WZ type, don't make Fire Wizard
- If you are a farmer type, Fire Wizard is your choice! (have 3 area skills, and no need for accuracy buff)

Finally another veteran FW came to this thread to share his wisdom.
Anyway do you use pure build int ?
Have you tried the tanky and dishout passive damage instead ?

yes, My FW is full INT (with VIT 100). I hunt on Blue Eye Dungeon.

What do you mean by "the tanky and dishout passive damage"? Using all Wisdom point?
On my other experiment, VIT 100, Wisdom 200, can't go solo against Tarantaros... easily killed :D

I can make (without IM battle pet gaius):
- Light Spirit level 75 XG+7, tanking against 6-8 ice spade
- Light Spirit level 9x XG+7, tanking against 20-40s taranshilop

I still can't make Light Spirit tanking in Alcanez Dungeon (eventhough with IM battle pet gaius). Buuuut... with only one defender as the tank, you two can wipe alcanez easily.... with power of fire wizard, hehehehehhe

If you want to play Monster Survival in Unison Server, ,minimum VIT 200 is recommended. Also, don't forget bring your battle pet (any type). Because usually there will be round that need physical damage. Since mage can't combo, the battle pet is the only solution

No, i mean when only go to warzone.
I thought warzone is using different stat spread (just like union do, different with farming stat spread).
That's why I asking about 450 vit 300 wis (since you didnt need hunt again)

The WZ and 'farming', using the same stat.

Or, you build two FW, for two purposes: WZ (and bossing, alcanez?) and farming :D And these two FW will play Monster Survival too, so you will get many rubies (and manual Book) :D Well, if you are not easily bored type

What the purpose FW on warzone even when FW become hard to kill? The earthquake skill can paralyze 'enemy'. But since it is an area skill, and on WZ, our teammate will still receive the damage. Well, I haven't play Ice Wizard, but IW can freeze the enemy, and it is not area skill.

What I mean is, if you go to 'full VIT' type, it will be for bossing. You will be disappointed if your purpose is just for warzone. Think this way: if your FW is the last (wo)man standing in WZ, it's just a bonus :D :D :D

I play in Arus, so, finding the boss is not that difficult :D I don't know in Duran. queue? :D

I will inform the result if I had decide to make 'full VIT' type. But for now, I play other classes (INT type, sharing the same accesories). So I don't know when will it happen

Sadly earthquake is not guaranteed stun, just like gambler's all-in

In PvP FW is kinda useless, his casting speed is slower than IW. Mage always be a support in pvp, that's why mostly IW player doesn't spend single point in INT and go with WIS and VIT. IW is a nightmare for gambler, because of his slow and yeah, IW's new skill is AoE freeze guaranteed and his AoE skills have a chance to freeze too.

Well, WZ in arus is not hard anymore because there's no high-geared gambler with full luck. That's why u can tank it with FW. And also don't forget IW has glacier shield which absorb 80k damage for short time

I'm glad that more Peeps are interested in mage.

I have both FW and IW and will share more about FW on this post.

During WZ, I killed several peeps by doing this skill sequence > dancing flame - Earthquake - Inferno. Easily clean up apostles as they have low defense.

For PvP, dancing flame - Earthquake - Phoenix - Inferno, etc", able to kill some peeps, especially when PvP without buff, FW has more advantage as flame shield gives 800 def and 800 eva.

For farming, i used to solo run Sage Tower, as FW no need buff or anything, i'm able to keep all drops for myself which gives below loots for f1-f5 clean up (no boss fight):
- 2-3 stacks of rubies (worth 95M cegel for each stack)
- 8-16 boxes of balie box (worth around 80-90M cegel each)
- 3-8 Balie capes (worth around 100M cegel each)
- Sometimes Refinement manual G16 (100M?), G17 (500M)
>> which amounts around 1B to 3B cegel each run. (Duran Server)

The skill sequence which i did for solo sage run :
- For Mobs : Dancing Flame - Inferno - Earthquake - Stick Booster - Inferno - Meteor - Earthquake - stick booster, repeat.
- For Solo Bossing will be posted later on

FW Solo Sage Bossing:
- Squid (F1 boss) : This boss is pretty hurt which able to give 8k-10k damage for set of BH xg+10, Jikael TBS xg+9. i wont recommend to do this boss as its not really worth spending time to get the boxes. The trick is to lure it to safe area tht has no poison river (the spot where has many balies before u got to the boss), and u have to tank all his damages, but this boss only has normal attacks which enable you to react to the damage easily.
- Rabbit (F2 boss) : This boss is pretty tanky which will take 2+ hrs to solo if no apostle for buffs and holy magic. first, always clean up all the mobs before hitting the boss. The trick for this boss is by doing square kiting (keep kiting on the middle, use stalagmites as the marker), and do this skill sequence : Dancing flame - Giga flame - inferno - stick booster - giga flame - inferno - phoenix - stick booster. For each stick booster, you are able to throw 2-3 skills. By doing this right, you will receive 0 damage till the boss is dead.
- Ps-2-jby (F3 boss) : This boss has low damage but has heal skill which recovers most of its HP (1 time use only). always clean up the mobs first and avoid the flames at all cost (the flames give poison debuff which decreases your hp to 1). the trick is to bring the boss to the door because flames wont go to door, the two pillars near the door is the marker for flames aggro. this boss has low damage and slow attack rate, should be able to tank and throw skills to it. But take note that at some point when this boss's hp is below 40%, it might use healing skill which recovers most of his hp, this skill is used once only.
- Tree (F4 Boss) : This boss has big damage and poison. this boss is hard to solo but its possible to do so. The trick is to kit by circling the edges of the map while throwing skills like rabbit boss. If you do this right, u will receive 0 damage till the end. There's another trick for this boss which requires more than 1 person. as the boss have aggro on one of the person, lure it to middle and keep facing the boss at 180 degree position, while the other person keep hitting the boss. this will give 1 person free hit and receive no damage at all as the boss stucked at the middle.
- Skeleton (F5 Boss) : This boss is able to summon many skeletons which deals 4k+ damage from each skeleton. This boss is able to be kit by doing straight line kit (stick booster to the opposite side of the boss). This boss has slow attack rate which makes it possible to avoid damage by using stick booster. if you do this right, u will receive 0 damage till the end. there's trick for more than 1 person too. the person who got the aggro should lure the boss to the small hill near the cliff and stuck it to the white stone. If you have apostle in party, it'd be the best to let the apostle stand on the cliff to avoid getting killed by skeletons.
For Samael, i haven't found any way to solo this boss.

My status is putting 200 Stamina and the rest to Intelligence, but it's not recommended for new Sage Runners.

The recommended Status is 350 Stamina and rest to Intelligence. After getting used to sage, you might want to allocate more to intelligence.

Putting 200 Stamina is the bare minimum stamina required to survive Samael Boss's skills.

I'd be glad to show how it's done, including solo hard rooms in sage towers (Alchemist, tree, steel, library room).

Mage has bug issues. The skill is underated / useless compared to other, but ... you know, we've(Ice Wiz) support skill which's... very very useless too, named glacial shield, more likely "is this skill ? or just stiker?" .Please dont pick mage if u hot headed.
