How to get the best New World Weapons
You may have noticed some similarities in the names of the devices you encounter in the New World. There are naming conventions that describe the characteristics of each item. For example, means "Cavalier's Reinforced Syndicate Adept Mantle".

"...... Cavalier" means that his primary attribute is dexterity and his secondary attribute is physique.
When crafting items, you can use attributes to give your equipment these traits and appendages.

Each equippable item has its own equipment value - the higher this is, the stronger the weapon. The maximum equipment score is 600. So if you are level 60 and want to know how to reliably get high-level equipment, there are a few things you should know.
To get high-level gear, you'll need to kill level 60 and above enemies. When calculating the level of equipment that will be dropped for you, the game assigns a "watermark" number to each equippable slot and weapon type - this watermark number is the highest equipment score you have received in each slot to date. If a piece of equipment is dropped there is little chance it will be higher than your current watermark, but if that happens your watermark will be adjusted and you have a better chance of getting another piece of equipment close to that level for that slot .
Let's say the best helmet you get is a 510 GS - this is your helmet watermark so it is unlikely you will get a helmet above this value. If you are lucky enough to get a better helmet (e.g. 520 GS), the more likely you will get more helmets, all the way up to 520 GS.
That means the best way to get premium gear is to increase your watermark by repeatedly defeating premium bosses.
