Desynchro, bugged PK system, disonnecting

Dear PLAYWITH INTERACTIVE

It's almost month since testing the game. You provide us with item mall and news items for it. Preservation stones, scrolls to reset dungeons etc. etc. etc.
But still you didn't fix bugs which are reported since beginning? Can u explain us the customers when will u fix:
- diconnecting when using teleport(during walking)
- bugged pk system(atacking pink player makes u pink, 2 "white nickname" players atacking each other, killing pink players takes your possible kill, pink players kills u and he dont show up on your vengence list
- fix desynchro between clients (it makes terrible to do any pvp, when u try use skill but you cant use any other player stunned u on his client, but it didnt show up on your end
- consigment shop( still can't show the items)
- brigthness change(when u start rohan or go into options)
- Starting screen still fu** up screen resolution


Almost all of this buggs are 7 years old and u still didn't fix them? You wanna get money from us by running same game third time, but still u didn't fix obvious errors?

People still charge regardless of the bugs, I'd be more worried about not having MR. I'm gonna hype the sh1t out of MR on every topic I get the chance.

yeap its also problem, when they introduce "guild wars" but when guild doesnt accept the war... Well u still got 5 possible kills

The Dcing while porting while moving has been an issue since forever on iRohan. The only way around it atm is to stop running before porting (or as used to happen on global, while venging aswell). Always be mindfull of it when porting and you will be fine.

There is a way around the the consign shop issues. It may work for some, it may not for others, but worth a try. You can find the info here -

So your car has function line assist, but it's behave bad(don't work properly). You will ignore the problem and use bugged system? Or will you conctact with your dealer and demand fixing the problem?

Playwith Interactive is "dealer" which doesnt fix your car for 7 years and u have still problem with your line assist(or replace the fancy future with other)

"Working properly" depends on your idea of "Working properly" or the designer's idea of "Working properly".
If you misuse/abuse it or don't understand how the designers intend you to use it, is it the designer's fault or yours? If you are used to abusing a function and that abuse has been fixed, who is it that is right? You or the designer?

At the end of the day, the designer's idea is the one that rules unless you can convince them that your understanding is the correct one that everyone else would agree on.

This is a beta test. There WILL be bugs and errors. Your job by agreeing to play this game during this test phase is to find bugs and report then to the game developer via the ticket system.
If you don't agree with that, then the game developer have no choice but to assume you are fine with things as they are.

TBH, when I paid 32k for my car with said features, it better works well - though. Do I expect it to drive for me? I expect it to work when I need it.
Do I need it aka learn2drive? No, I don't - but it is there though and it would've been cheaper without it and to be honest, many people could use blind spot detection and lane departure these days..


Difference here, however, is that buying a car isn't an alpha nor beta test and should need no "testing" unless you buy 2nd hand - therefore, this example doesn't really apply here anyway.

But seriously, some bugs like collision detection (root of sealing square glitching abuse) is not fixable due to the level it is located in the game engine. I've seen myself neck deep in the consignment podium where I should never have been able to enter it at that level. I also see people on mounts chasing facing the podium and running around and around it going through other players standing there. It won't get fixed because the team of developers that made the low level geomind game engine are long gone.

My 2013 Ford Focus has completely buggy voice recognition too. It is a function and it should work, but they have yet to fix it on my 4-year old car. Nor will they accept it back for a refund since I can make it understand if I speak using a different timbre, accent or inflection. How is that really any different than Rohan?

Bottom line is that every game will have strengths, weaknesses, quirks, bugs and misunderstood functions. And not all of them can or will get fixed any more than Ford can make my car understand my normal speaking voice.

In beta test if you find faults, you report them. If they can fix them they just might fix them - probably not immediately but at some point.

The devs made the bug to ''crash while you walk'' on purpose. You see, you have to relog your client to visit the consignment dealer, walking-port bug is the fastest way to relog to access the bugged consignment dealer.

And which bugs were those? Rohan: Origin has only been in beta test for about 3-4 weeks.

To follow up with my analogy, the voice recognition problem has been a problem with Ford Sync for almost 10 years. They never fixed it until they moved away from the Microsoft-based automation engine.

I doubt that any of the problems reported 7 years ago (again, need some kind of list of the actual reported bugs) were fixable by the people left behind when YNK became PlayWith.

Did I say I was ok with these not being fixed? No I didnt. BUT while we wait for pigs to start flying (aka for these twats to get their sh1t together and fix things), there are "ways" around said issues. I pointed them out incase you and or others were not aware of the ways around the bugs.

This must be pretty "recent" (in the past four-five years) as I assure you when I left this bug wasn't in the game haha.

Only seems to happen when two clients are logged in at once.

The DC when teleporting while walking is a security feature of the old ROHAN where there's no teleport feature. The game sees you cheating (as far as I know). Well I hope they will find a way to fix it.

as for the MR. I don't know if they take it seriously. Since they already introduce the Guild Battle system. For the mean time I'm going to grind my Dhan & Dekan to kill those pesty botters around. As I can kill them all I want when I'm in Assassin mode :)

Here's the list of bugs and suggestions:

• Murder Remission feature - Where you can reset your murder kill points.
• Diconnection when using teleport while walking.
• PK system - When attacking pink player(the one who first attacks you), You'll turn pink to. Pink players that killed you, won't show up on your vengeance list.
• Consignment shop - Still can't search the items needs to reconnect few more times.
• Option menu at the start of the client
• Fix the F.A.Q. Section - some are really confusing or the translation is not correct and brings issues.
• Dhan/Dekan Race sepearation - We know it is intended but could you give them more advantages or perks aside from the Assassin mode(a bit risky when your target is near a patrol)
• Magic Monster Attacks to Mages - This is being abuse right now, It should be balanced with other (Physical based class).
• Boss Drops - Give us durational epic item drops that the Bosses(high level) would drop to have something to fight for(PVP).
• Bot Users - We see them everyday, It's either have HK released or have a system to automatically detects them. We know that you guys are busy and won't have time to monitor the whole game 24/7, there's a feature like you did in the web portal login. Captcha Notices in areas with monsters, It will notify the player to enter a captha code in order to verify if they are using macros or not. This would Disconnect the players when not answered after a certain time.

I reckon it's technically impossible for the option menu to have at the start, unless for a new client - we've been begging for a server button for YEARS as well, but alas.

Sadly the game client is not moduilar and can't to do 3-part operation

(part 1) Login - HTTPS request to a web app which drives...
(part 2) Server selection - 50/50 Web call and stored procedure call to MSSQL which hands off to ...
(part 3) Game server connection from address obtained in part 2. This is what ultimately connects to the game client using a custom session.

The problem is that parts 1 & 2 happen in a web server. The transaction is ephemeral. Once the server hand-off happens, the http session ends and the socket is released for someone else to log in. The web session can not be passed on the actual game server component, and the http session must be released to accommodate as many players as possible. Hanging on to http sessions for several hours (or for some players days) is never a smart thing to do in client/server communications.

part 3 (the game server using a custom protocol) has no idea how to re-establish a destroyed web session and call the server selection web app without forcing another login.

I mean I don't see why they couldn't just create a new HTTPS request instance between being in-game and hitting a server-select button to create a new session while killing off the old one after the handshake happens. You can pass login credentials/authorization from the existing/prior session data and just pass it over in the middle of a splash/loading screen to hide the brief disconnect. If you really wanted to get fancy, you could also run a background client verification service on-load to the server-select screen as though the client was restarted to avoid any potential game hacks during the brief disconnected handover state. Though even then it's a little frivolous. It might not be modular but there are definitely ways around that.

My guess is they don't have an engine netcode programmer to implement this. Seems easy but I doubt there's any reasonably good API to do that kind of exchange; if there was, odds are we'd already have seen the feature years ago.

I think they just mean general game options, though (res change, etc. for splash screens), not just server selection. This would be a nice QoL feature and presumably wouldn't be too hard to implement given modern engines and manipulating GUI's on top of their existing graphics-scaling API's, though I know next to nothing about the game's client engine and what those screens are running on. Though if memory serves there's a cfg file which contains resolution data for the game, which begs questions why the splash/login/server select screens don't utilize this. Probably some ingrained and hard-coded resolution for splash screens if I had to guess, done just for low-res monitors to maximize compatibility. Likely one-layer/single-image and non-scalar, which would likely mean some script creation to parse the values in the cfg and scale the UI (the easy part), and more difficult, engine tweaks to execute the script and change the UI for displaying, which again, who knows if they even have any of those engine devs around these days.

Go for it, kill them all in Assasin Mode, but don't cry when your precious weapon / armor parts will be dropped from you after someone else kill you. Assasin Mode don't prevent from loosing eq when you die.

So much for the dropped items But it should go to the Loot storage as it is part of the A-Mode system.

If you drop an item you just forge a new one.

They cannot change game engine, all the updates came from korean version of rohan. We get same patch as korean players. When we report problems, they have to forward them to korean team(which probably is making the game). Probably PLAYWITH INTERACTIVE is bunch of people making just cash from game, by releasing it on european market.


Strange thing that indo can play on european version they should be banned...

Playwith's global subsidiary groups can't, no, but they do have contact with Korea to demand bugfixes. I just suspect even Korea lacks sourced-in engine developers due to their cost and age of this game's engine.

And there is the key to why some of the annoying little bugs or lack of convenience features have never really appeared.
Most of PW's core engine developers left about 2 years after the game was released. They were expensive and PW was not interested in keeping expensive people around once the game was released. Sure they had one or two giuys around wikth some engine knoeledge, but after about 10 years I can't see themn sticking around past the YNK->PW handoff.

At most PW can change peripheral content. Things like damage calculators, creating UI components, adding 'chance' components and messing with the bins/maps/quests, et al is fully within their possibilities.

I enter as proof the whole lack of real integration when the Trinity race was added to RBF. It felt like that was added in with chewing gum and duck tape. It was so badly done that you could not even seal a character to change its name or sell it. That is because it was done tby people that did not have enough core knowledge to add it correctly (the old 2010 version of the game actually did have all the bits available to add the Halfling race - including a Town {Rembeck} for it but meh!).

I wasn't here for the new race. Although those kinds of features would presumably be readily available for modifying in the engine itself - the stuff normal devs do. And I know until the time I left where there were enough devs such that there was consideration to move a dedicated developer to the global servers. I want to say they couldn't get anyone willing to come. I trust that connections and so on are likely rigged into a packaged block of boiled-down netcode abstracted from the developers. Without a dedicated engine programmer there's likely little way to mess with this. The new race looked bad, but I think it was done to try amd get people to play and generate revenue than to come with a proper race release; halflings were alluded to be on their way in the game lore since launch, and even more so given the Giant lore.
