English - do you speak it?

Despite the ticket and the FAQ still being wrong - even after 'correction', i'll give another attempt at something else:

Dagger description is either wrong, or the game values are. You see, it says "Left-handed weapons activate only 50% of their options.".

Tested and proved to still be just 30% as it always has been. Kindly adjust either values or description.

I could post a picture or two, but I won't because I'm lazy like that.

Question remains what else doesn't work. Rising Might for example, anyone actually notices any difference with it?

Their translate skills are pretty dope :D F.A.Q for example is best thing here on forum, almost nothing is right hahaha

How about the option "skill defence + xx%" does it refer to skill shot (skills) def. Or it will increase your defensive skill (ex. Empower)

skill defense is damage drop that gets applied whenever you get hit by skills.


Bosses use skills
in pvp people use skills

say you have 10% skill defense and someone uses a skill on you that would do 1000 dmg, you'll only receive 900 instead.

Dragon sage on the left side like elder blood or whatever doesn't make sense. Normal attack drop by % but I've seen no difference.

Im so noob, i thought it will increase my defensive skills (empower). Thanks for info, it is more suitable on pvp and boss raid.

it is the same as in BF lol. In BF it even affects the hits of certain monsters, in mirror maps and the dungeons.

It wouldn't even suprise me if SD would lower the damage from mobs in minor/inter/sup here. I have not tested this tho but It's quite well possible it works.

Thats why I loved SD for when my priest was soloing in Mirror/ dungs.It really did/ does make a difference.

Thats also why I'm so confused as to whats the best stats to use on my Priest on Origin. Psy/Vit/SD/AD? I'm still lving so I want what's beneficial for that. PvP isn't a factor for me atm. I can always make my pvp set later.

Can you guide m once more, if "skill defense" DD the skills. Then "pdef xx%" in armor only affects normal attack? How about "armor def xx%"?

In iRBF Armour Defense weapon stat used to boost both your total physical and magical defense - in difference to the skill protection, which also gave Armour Defense % but only boosted the white stats of your armours.

Since they now make a distinction in RBF:Origin; there are two options:
- Either AD works still as above and makes does no difference in having AD or PD %, unless you want your m.def boosted as well.
- They changed it and it now boosts only armour stats, whereas p.def boosts your actual physical defense. Either case, you will want either or the both of them for tanking purposes (PvE mainly).

I haven't tested this yet.

As for skill defense, this will matter mostly in PvP, or later stage endgame pvE. Since in order to have skills hit minimum dmg, you would need an extreme amount of defense your opponent cannot 'break' with his attack. Unless you're full vit, with enough boosters, this is nigh impossible.

Regardless of that, (some) skills also deal magical damage or damage that just ignores defense in general. In that case, the only way to lower damage is by using damage drop (IM) or skill defense %.

Not quite sure if it's accumulative with said damage drop, or if it's a different calculation.



Of course, I could be completely wrong - in which case this will be buried under a text wall of shame and can be disregarded as complete nonsense.

armor SET pdef = PVE but focus only in physical def.

armor SET mdef = PVE but focus only in magcial def.

armor SET Armor.D = PVE boost the stat of armors PDEF and MDEF

armor SET SKILL.D = for PVP, and certain monster in dungeon

That's a bit simplistic to put - but basically yea. Except of course that I never said pdef being useless in PvP and only for PvE - but there are other options.

Also disregarding whether or not AD now boosts total defense, or just armour stats, since not tested nor confirmed. Although, considering we no longer have the "green" defense stats on armours, it would be rather pointless to make a distinction.

We had elaborate discussions with 'GM Karazy' about these various armour / weapon stats last year and these have been documented and reported.
However, the context in which they were used in has changed and have not been adapted to the new environment they are now have been put in.

Hence the reason way may see quite a few of these mishaps and/or redundant stats around.

pdef = phys attack defense (melee or weapon auto attack hits)
mdef = magic attack defense (damage sustained by magic-based attacks)
sdef (sd) = skill attack defense (works against elemental skills like invenom too)
armor def = overall defense similar to attack % = magic attack % OR melee attack % OR ranged attack % depending on which is used. Armor defense applies to physical, magic or skill (i believe - not sure about this one) attacks. Note that critical attacks slice thru that - you need critical damage drop for that.

I would not put too much weight on trying to nail down the actual calculations used for damage. Damage calcs include a random factor that can complement or reduce the posted attack value. You see this in action if you watch the system chat log while attacking mobs or players. You will see that even normal attacks are not usually to be consistently the same number even on the same target. There are some exceptions, but they are rare. So any documentation you see regarding damage should be taken as an average rather than a concrete number.

Crits are sometimes 2x, 1.5x, 2.5x or sometimes even 3x if you get a lucky random modifier roll.

Yeah. Invenom, Elementals and FFS/DFFS were the things that could cut through DD when 100% DD was a thing. SD was the only things that reduced that, but you couldn't find anything better than 45%-ish DD in armor.

crit attack is a random x1.5 to x2.5 damage (w/o modifier), then physical defence can lower the damage of AA crits for just a few.

or should we calculate crit as DAMAGE that ignores DEF. (attack that ignores def.) x ( random modifier, etc 1.5-2.5) = CRIT DAMAGE (w/o modifier)

They've changed things a couple of times, SD used to work for Invenom then it didn't. Currently on Jainus it doesn't work.

It however does work on elemental and noirs thorn whip.

It's OP because the said % SD will decrease your elemental damage AND regular damage, the calculation for this looks something similar to this (This is for jainus, I've got no clue if it works on ORIGIN since I don't get to PVP much yet ***** MR ***)

An AA is Base dmg + Elemental dmg. if you hit 1000+1000 (base + ele) and one has 50% SD you'll hit 500+500.
