I know for a fact you can do it without a maint...
T_T" Here I am waiting for name change on my Scout... what should I do while I wait xD?
On an unrelated note... Would it be possible to 1:1 chat with someone from PWi?

1) Been asked before - but you know.
2) it is, if you catch one online and they have time. You can always PM one on the boards (Karazy, Nicole..) - if their PM box isn't full, you normally get a response. If you mean to say 1:1 like Skype, etc. - it's not going to happen due to conflicts of interests, etc.
1) It really makes no sense with their system... I suppose it COULD be to avoid issues with friends lists and such not updating or to keep people from spamming it but zzz
2) I had YNK staff on skype in the past but most of them don't work with PWi anymore, trying to get in touch with someone who can tell me if we're cool now or if i'll get banned soon lol
these ppl dont know who the fk u are but yeah u will get banned soon knowing you.
Skype conversation with GM's is not really possible. You can reach them in-game or via ticket only. It's better to contact them via ticket because there are things they can't process when they are in-game like restoration, password change, account info, etc
and that rohan balance skype group went to **** real fast like who the hell decided to invite THH?!?!?!?
Yeah the name change bit is retarded as fk. I mean making someone delete all their IM, twins and other non-storeable/non-tradeable stuff just to change their name? C'mon! A simple stored procedure can check for duplicates and zap the character name it in less than a second. Total steaming pile of bull manure.
To talk to a GM 1-on-1, GM Karazy often trolls at Limestone foothills (at least in Jainus - not sure about Isen) because that is where most players congregate. He is a lvl 2 support guy so he might be able to give you some 1-1 time (he'll transport you to prison to talk tho).
Most, ikf not all of the GM team you knew is gone now. I doubt any of the new guys here will have heard of you tho (a good thing ;) ).
If you bought a character that was a really good price and it has some fked up name, and can afford to change it, what would YOU do? Please think a little bit before posting.
His complaint is that PWi insists on only doing name changes during a maintenance when it is not necessary in the least. Both HH and I know for a fact that changing a name involves a single database cell in your character's record and checking for dupes (the name really doesn't even have to be unique, but is to simplify things). A change can happen at any time and would not be visible until you log that character out (you don't even have to exit the client) and log it back in. A simple SQL stored procedure can handle the task of searching for duplicates and zapping the name in a few milliseconds.
maybe to lessen the bugs! because if they will change from time to time need to update the patch from time to time!
Not sure I get what you mean here. Changing name is dead simple. You can do it even while the game is running and the character is logged in. I've personally done it several times and you can bet your boots that HH has as well.
There really is no reason to force stripping the character of everything, sealing it and making a player wait until maintenance. It is a waste of effort on the players AND support staff because you just know the the player will demand all deleted IM and untradeable bits be restored - which is problem-prone as many players can attest. Frankly IMHO there is more danger of losing player paid items by doing this 'maint only' name changes than there is by simply doing it at the time the name change ticket is received. As I said the name change does not happen in-game until the player logs off and logs back in with his character.
I've seen this in pservers it's funny that the official hasn't done it before :l
As I said above - I've done it myself.
Thing is, the unique name check and RPs withdrawal is done when you place the name change order. There really is nothing stopping the web process from kicking off a shared proc to do the actual change when the user requests it right then and there.
Yup... No reason for it at all...
