Hi!
Anyone knows what is the difference between damage drop in weapons and min. damage drop in armors?
thanks for help
Damage Drop in weapons drops the total damage taken after being droped by pdf/mdf. Min DD drops damage taken after Damage Drop but its useless if you dont have insane HP which you should be looking for. Min DD only works better in PvE and Mages shields, for other classes is kind of garbage. DD is superior.
Damage drop on weapons will always lower your incoming dmg with said % on your weapon. However, if you're very weak - you will still get hit for a lot. What is more, damage drop does not lower elemental dmg received.
Armor defense on weapons will increase your total defense stats by said % on your weapon. This effectively increases your inflated and 'pure' defense stats and will effectively lower both the incoming damage AND elemental damage.
Having a lot of defense will thus have a major impact on the dmg+elementaldmg you receive.
However, at some point it will not matter how much more defense you add. You can add 2k 5k or 10k.. mobs will still hit your for 80-100+little elemental dmg. That is the minimum amount of dmg you will always be hit with even though you have a ton of defense.
Now, what min.dmg option does on your armor, is lowering that fixed amount of min. damage even further. This works very well with blue defense from dekans for instance. Blue defense will lower that 80 dmg by 25, and you'll only be hit by 55 dmg.
Adding min.dmg on your armor can effectively negate any incoming dmg down to 0 damage.
Since it's rather easy to hit high defense (armor defense weapons, etc), this is a good option to have on any farmer class. My farmer used to run with 3* min. dmg + 2* -xxx crit damage.
As it does not often happen in pvp that people hit already the minimum amount of damage on you, unless you're fighting lower levels - it is a usueless option in PvP.
It's a misconception that DD is superior in nearly all cases - but I had that AD - DD discussion 4 years ago already filling hundreds of pages..
^He has a better explanation :P
Trust me the amount of testing done thought the years was a lot and every time there is a change most of us have to test some things again but this things haven't been changed since the beginning of the game so its pretty much solid info :)
All damage is lowered by the said % DD except some skills like ffs/dffs and health drain which are only lowered by Skill Defense and except for that do true damage.
- Skill Defense: works for pvp on every skill casted on you and lowest the incomming damage by the said %
- Damage Drop (Weapon) works for all incomming damage except a few exceptions, named above
- Min. Damage Drop works like EaglePhoenix described it and is only usefull for PVE
- Armour Defense works also like EaglePhoenix described it and (for me) is better than dd for some classes/builds. It all depends on your gear, lvl, farm spot etc.
wow. that was awesome
Thank you very much guys, your're great! :)
Snipers + EP, I would like to discuss this further in game. Can you PM me a time that you would be available to chat? It can be separately or together, just let me know when. :)
Oh, a VIP fan ;)
Min DD sucks in pve tho crit drop is always better especially if u are armor def master race u already get minimum damage so u need crit drop since crits ignore pdef.
Well crit drop is nice but you need max. 2 parts with it.
I have only 1 part on atm and the incoming crits are lower than the normal hits lol. So I'd go for min. DD for the rest (or HP).
I'm on weekend duty and having incoming vessels early part of this week (read: long days) - roaming forums is one thing, loging in is another. Should work 2nd half of the week or latest early next week (unless you log in during weekends) - will lookout for a timing both fitting PST and CET.
To come back to this; we have a bank holiday on Monday - so I should be able to find some time there.
Mages are more on Skill attacks :D you need more skill defense for those classes :D
Dont expect to be able to kill someone as a mage it is not an easy job. I play Int warlock in pservers and its more of a fire support and CC than main DPS cause if I get inside a fight I tend to die first if the priest is busy or the main temp is stuned and I am protecting him from more enemy dps. It becomes a mess and even if i am in Fake death it is a mess.
My favorite targets are Dhans, Humans, Priests, other mages, and Half Elfs, sometimes giants. Dekans are impossible to kill but if the player who is playing it thinks he is rambo he ends up killing himself and that is one less pain in the a$$ you have to think of.
Mages are either annoying(CC) or opportunity kill(Lucky DPS kill) but dont expect to survive a lot in a 1 vs 1 fight you will just die too fast. Consider group PvP that is where you should shine :)
Snipers, get ingame and post on here if you are lol
Health issues man get me on skype cause I cant log in prob for 1 month >.<

I have some questions.
Is regular attack + Imbue considered a skill or not?
And if it is, so every monster regular attacks is a skill too?
Below is a case, but sadly happened before DE update, and idk if it's legit now.
If I'm not mistaken there was a skill from wizard that add a specific amount of damage output for skills to all members in party(I forgot the name, add temper or whatever).
I noticed that when this buff active, my giant(I was playing one)'s regular attack + Imbue damage output is raised according to the description of that wizard's skill. It was add 300 damage and that's exactly the number that adding my giant's damage.
So looking at this I assume Regular damage + Imbue is considered a skill?
Following that question, if it(the regular attack+Imbue) is indeed a skill, then I assume the Skill Defense option from armor also works for this? Therefore also works for monster attack?
Soome days ago I had someone(115dhan) told me that SD armor is good for mirror dungeon, so I came up with this questions, sadlly the dhan is gone, so I brought the questions here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT : Oh yes I add another thing, if not mistaken if you are a dekan and going evolve you can't use Imbue, there's a system message says that "You cannot use this skill during transformation"(Again I may be wrong, sorry).
So this dekan's case adding to my believe that Regular attack + Imbue is considered a skill, yes?
imbue? you mean elemental? regular with or without elemental are both regular attacks, not skills. What you described about add temper is correct, it used to apply (maybe still does haven't tested it) to elemental damage. It still doesn't mean it makes your regular attack a ''skill''. Elemental damage can be reduced with elemental resist, you get from psy/int and from rings or accesorys.
The fact that SD armour works in the new maps/dungeons is because the mobs do not have auto attacks, every hit they do on you is actually a ''skill'' their auto attacks are skills, thus SD armour reduces the damage. This is exceptional tho and you won't see it back in other parts of rohan.
You can also make your elemental damage goes up using an option stones.
Worn Wings of Silva - increases elemental attack damage to 5-10%
Wings of Silva - increases elemental attack damage to 10 - 20%
Perfected Wings of Silva - increases elemental attack damage to 20%
Adorned Wings of Silva - increases elemental attack damage 11 to 25%
Hope it help.
Some of those can be obtained in Elemental Instance dungeon :D
Add Temper has been changed to add Psy for the Wizard so it doesnt boost your elemental damage nor skills damage anymore.
Because 95% on here doesn't even know you can set an alert for pm's of any kind.
Ugh.
Count me to that 95% :D
Forum posts all the way :p Need to raise my post amount!
Me too that's why MR. PJ. :D
Maybe I will make a thread on Rings base stat's, other rings :D
is this tested? cuz i just spend a **** ton of rps for a max SD set, and the dmg in new maps doesnt change like AT ALL. 4k with onyx , 4k with 36SD
also i tested there with 9k pdef, and i have a feeling that 4k is like min damage of those things, is min DD armor work better in this new maps?
we know the min dmg of reg mobs is 100-120, but what is the min dmg of those in new dung? if is 3-4k then the min DD armor should help a lot in there
anyone tested?
As far as I know SD armour DOES change the dmg you recieve from the mobs in the new dungeons. They might have changed it (I've not tested this for some time). I've never tested min.dmg drop at those monsters, you can try a full set with min.dmg drop and see what happens with the average hits you take.
I tested it (see before and after SD removed), SD DOESNT affect you from NORMAL damage from mobs even in new dungeons, but only when monsters uses "elemental skill" attacks or any monsters that uses skill attacks such as Boss monsters. SD affects its SKILL damage I test it with and without SD equipped (my SD has a very low bonus PDEF only 96 pd). Min damage drop changes its damage you recieve ONLY if the damage you recieve is MINIMUM since monsters or even in pvp has maximum and minimum damage so only minimum damage you take is affected by min damage drop equips you have and only from monsters not effective in pvp

im not sure if you know how min dmg works, here i try to be 100% clear so you can understand wat we are talking about here.
if a NORMAL moster hits you 1000, where this 1000 is a sum of 100 min dmg and 900 "melee" dmg, your pdef will reduce the "melee" dmg only
if you pdef pass that dmg will make the final damage 100+0
100+1000 with 0 pdef
100+500 with 500 pdef
100+0 with 999999 pdef
so if you have 50% min dmg drop it will be
50 of 100 + 0 = 50.
(a waste of option if u ask me)
now if the NEW DUNG mobs has, lets say 3000+7000
3000+7000 with 0 pdef
3000+0 with 999999 pdef
dat 3000 will get nerfed to 1500 with the same min dmg drop armor, making those option stone way more effective for the new dung
IF THIS IS THE CASE
I dont have a dd drop set atm, and I cannot test it, i was asking if someone could
as for the SD on those normal attaks, yea i dont know, i tested a couple of time and with 27% SD armor i get like 600-700 dmg less, but it seems too low difference for that %, specially cuz those normals attak has a big gap from higest or lowest dmg
plz keep the testing coming :)
Your first point(about minm dmg drop) is valid and I wondered this as well. It seems however that pdf in general is ignored by the mirror dungeon mobs, I have no idea what their minimum value is set at but it would surely be worth it to test it with some nice min. dd set.
As for the SD, I've tested this in sunken and it used to lower the damage you received by a lot. This is however quite awhile ago and multiple patches have been applied scince (SD used to drop Invenom dmg too but this was changed). I'd not be suprised if this was changed since well...#Koreans
