Trump won for partly the same reasons Hitler won in the 1930s. He also won because, well let's face it, his competition was representative all that is wrong with the current stagnant government. So people had the choice of having an ignorant asshole as president or one that is simply going to continue the mistakes made by the previous administration. Not much of a choice. Why vote for the devil you know when there is another devil you don't know available - especially if that devil is up front with you about being a devil.
Obama, when he started was a breath of fresh air. After 2 terms in office however the weight of nation weighed on him so much that he did things that were dodgy and very unpopular. People did not want more of that. So the alternative is an idiot that hasn't a clue how to get things done in a government. All that "I'm gonna do this" and "I'm gonna do that" bull**** can never happen in a democratic republic. Build a big freaking wall and make Mexico pay for it? Make Syria create a save zone and make them pay for it? Kick out 11,000 refugees that the country already agreed to take? Pushing for any of those things is a wide open invitation for war and not a civil one either. And if that happens we will see how much support he will get from his pal Putin.

There are supposed to be some checks and balances in place to prevent that kind of mess from happening, but I wonder how much the American people will accept before kicking them in.
