That's what communism is on paper but in reality those in power pad the lining of their pockets along with those associated with them. So you've gone from a capitalist society which has a small but real chance of "earning" your way to the top, to a communist society where you are worth nothing unless you're in bed with the ruling elite.
ugh This is so true. I'd rather live in a capitalist country than in a communist country. I tried to point this out to my socialist friend but he's not open to anything but communism. Dafudge! I don't get him, maybe he'll realize when he's country is governed by communism tards
But life goes on...
Communism is a strange way to live in the eyes of us in the capitalist world. Though many that have lived their entire lives will view the isolation and less controlling nature of a capitalist government just as strange and uncomfortable. There's only a few places left that are clinging to the hardline socialist tenets of communism. Many of the more advanced countries of the world like China and Russia are moving slowly to more of a mix of capitalism & corporatism mixed with a lesser level of socialism.
Cuba is one of those places where times has been pretty much halted for a really long time. The Castro regime has been quite successful in keeping progress to a minimum on his island paradise. He has managed to remain a communist dictatorship far longer than most, though even the Castro regime is slowly starting to move into the 21st century. I suspect as each new generation of the Castro dynasty emerges there will be new ideas (and progress) coming into the Cuban government.
So how's the membership going? :)
