nothin' wrong with a bit of duality :D
Taunt in time, git good, I mean....
Most scouts randomly throw in their aoes, forcing you (as a defender) to instantly taunt, while not all mobs are in your range yet...causing the scout to die, whom will blame it on you...
Goddamn r3tarded players, amount of inter party's I've seen go up in flames after 4 stages while it could've been 7 or even 9-10 stages is too damn high, only because people do stupid sh1t.
Beside the scouts, I've also had defenders in my party who didn't want to taunt, don't ask me why (it was vit).....just......
Yeah.
As a defender, im supposed to be at the front lines. However, these scouts seem to be glued to their starting positions so far back that they ruin out of the buff.
My option being to either rebuff every 5 seconds and not being able to taunt OR stay close enough to the scout and priest to stay in alm and empower range.
This results in me not being able to taunt ranged mobs properly and losing battle oversight when you can't tell if all mobs are hitting me or them.
2 hits and it's usually too late to adapt.
Additionally, all new respawned mobs are not automatically aggro'd on me, even if I have their linked counterparts on top of me.
When scouts and mages alike insist on aggroing multiple groups, there is no way for me to taunt both groups AND newly respawned mobs due to long cd's.
It's impossible to explain this to them.
Nah Karren. Yer a sweetheart - even if you do look funny running around in a striped costume ;)
Yerp, even empower now gives .. not power, but defense. I didn't lvl any of those Defense nature (or w.e. it's called) and alike skills though for now (stunning party member and absorbing dmg). I do need a reskill soon to delete invoke.. (maybe, still debating).
Regardless of that, they still put out a ridiculous amount of damage .. albeit for a glory of no less than 9.7 seconds (lv 6).
Can you show me any proof its your intellectual property?
#dailyquestion@work
Not necessarily. Many people who write a book just send themselves a sealed, dated copy of the manuscript so if the evil producer steals the idea after he tells the writer his/her idea sucks, they can proof it's his/her idea without filing a patent and paying a lot for possibly nothing.
Defending Nature (DN) is the best skill on the Defender tree IMO. You cast it on a party member and it will essentially allow you to tank for them for I think it is 10 seconds now? Use it in the elemental dungeon when a Scout pulls aggro and you're unable to AOE taunt. Roha's Shelter (if that's still the same skill it used to be) is more of a PvP skill, or at least it used to be.
Defender in general is pretty goddamned strong.
No warlock in terms of nuke cheese power, but it's still way up there for the sheer utility it brings.
No just no! DN is awefull if you ever get in tight spot. even if you only get 50% of the dmg if 10 Mobs Focus this Scout you speak of and they get ****load dmg like i hear it all day (1000-2000 dmg NO CRITS) it's insane. This Dmg you get from Defending Nature is in the called example(500-1000 non crits) can just out right kill you if you have Problems allrdy. Just use Roha's shelter on that foul, it resets his aggro, saves him no matter what, you dont lose hp your self and he even gets a bit hp back.(leave it at lvl 2-3 so Duration doesnt take him out to Long). If the Scout rly does it more often than every 60 seconds, just let him die. You are the Tank you decide the pace of the game not this stupid dmg-dealers.
Well this is obviously someone with Defender experience ;) I have only seen it used in my parties (as priest) where the Scouts weren't total morons and only took aggro due to damage when Taunt was down, not because they went and pulled extra mobs - if they pull extra mobs let them fry. DN definitely has a place but I guess I should preface it with you should trust whoever you cast it on :D
Best defender you could get in your dungeon atm is iRay.
