For Topic Starter, it's not just about Newbie's Helper. All reward related with Charm seal and Hunter Kit(not sealed, the one that activated immediately), if you still have same kind item activated in your inventory and you accept the reward of these thingy, your new reward wil get deleted automatically. Yes, I lost Hunter Kit 7D from NPC at limestone bindstone(I think this one is sealed, but then I try to open it while I still having another one ON), and yes I also experienced that Newbie's Helper's(you think bug) issue sometime ago and it also hapens to msome of my friends in-game.
So don't be greedy and just wait until your charm or hunter kit is really gone before accept the new one from reward, or maybe from your Item Mall, or maybe opening a sealed one, I never tried the later again because I won't ever risk anything about it again. Sometimes there will be a warning like "you have same kind of item in inventory", I forgot in what case that was, but sometimes it just aggressively works like AVG anti-virus(delete automatically), so good luck!
