Well I could point at lest 3 few games that have been around a really long time and show no sign of going away anytime soon. They have large, active populations, IM setups that provide minimal powerups and very happy player bases. All of them except for one started out as subscription games, but moved to the F2P business model. Those same games thrive regardless of the large number of private servers out there that they compete against both before and after moving to F2P.
Like you, I can't say the same about these guys.
And yes I remember your evangelism just as I used to beat on that same "iRohan rules!" drum too. I have had my share of 'discussions' with Ishtaria & others about the pros/cons of private gaming enterprises (with me defending YNK). Like you these days I am not exactly their champion anymore either, but I do understand where they are coming from and what their pressures/motivations are.
